Shane's POV

It may have only been the beginning of 2026, but it felt like Annie was long gone... and gone for a long time. In reality, Alex was around for nearly six years, and he was here to stay.

     By 2029, Alex was able to start testosterone, and his female puberty was completely halted. We celebrated his twelfth birthday by inviting over friends from his preschool, whom he hadn't seen since we decided to homeschool him at age six.

    "May?" Alex said, seeing his preschool crush walk inside.

    "Hey... Alex.." May said. "It's been a while.."

    "It has... How have you been?" We watched the two of them go into the living room while Alex's friends went to his bedroom.

    "Dad... Dad..." Alex said. "Thank you.." He gave us each a hug. "You... You invited her.."

    "We had to.." I said. "You still like her, don't you?" Alex blushed.

    "Well... it seems like she has feelings for you.." Ryland said. "Why don't you ask her out?"

    "Wouldn't Layla be mad?" He asked.

    "You're a boy now... I don't think she can say a thing.." I smiled. "Go ask her out.." He smiled back, and went to find May.

    "There you are!" May said, smiling. "We were just about to play some games... Wanna partner up?" Alex nodded.

    "He is so happy...." Ryland said, excitedly. "I love it.."

    "He deserves to be this happy.." I said, my arm around Ryland's waist. "Like us.." He smiled at me, then we kissed.

     The party was about to end after Alex had blown out his candles and opened his presents. He has received a necklace from May that had his initials on it, and he proudly wore it as he talked to her again.

    "Okay.." Alex said. "I... I really need to say this.."

    "Okay.." May said. "What is it?"

    "Remember when I was Annie? Back in preschool.."

    "Yeah.. and my sister hated it.."

    "Well... Annie had a crush on you... but now... as Alex..." He hesitated. "I'm fall-" May gave him a hug, and shocked him.

    "I knew you liked me in preschool.." She said. "I just didn't know.. if you still did... so when I got invited, I knew I had to come over.. so we could do this..." Alex leaned in and kissed her, and May held her hands to Alex's cheeks. When the kiss broke, May spoke again. "I'm bisexual.. and I love you, too..."

    "I'm so glad.." Alex said, hugging her again. "I'm pansexual.."

    "He did it.." Ryland said to me as we watched the two kids again. "He got himself a girlfriend.." His phone rang shortly after, and it was Stephanie, so he put it on speaker. "Alex? It's your mom.. come here.." May followed him, holding his hand. Reid ran over to listen.

"Hey Stephanie.. How are you?" I asked.

"I'm good... I'm also here with news.." She said. "Um... I'm pregnant again. I just found out I'm about nine weeks pregnant. I didn't want to call until I knew for sure."

"So... we're having another kid?" Ryland asked. "I thought I only donated enough twice.."

"This is Shane's kid.." She said. "Both of you had donated twice."

"We're expecting.." I said. "Reid.. Alex... you're going to be older brothers..."

"Wait.... Where's Annie?" She asked. "Who's Alex?"

"I'm Annie.." Alex said. "But my name is Alex now.. and I'm your son, not daughter."

"I don't understand.." Stephanie said. "I didn't agree to this.."

"You didn't have to.." Ryland said. "They asked for one birth parent, and both legal guardians. We have everyone we need here."

"Then what was the girl voice I heard?"

"My new girlfriend.." Alex said, and wrapped his arm around May. "May Andersyn."

"Oh.." She said. "Well, hello, May..."

The conversation ended shortly after as Stephanie was completely confused and not wanting to discuss Alex's transition. That next day was Stephanie's appointment with the obstetrician, so we all went to see the sex of the new baby.

"Hey Mom.." Alex said.

"So it's true..." She said. "My baby girl..."

"I'm still here, Mom... but I'm your baby boy now.." He said. "And Reid is your baby boy, too..."

"What have your dads done to you?" Stephanie started crying. "You didn't deserve this..."

"Annie told us she was transgender when she turned four.... she said she was a boy named Alex.." Ryland said. "That's who you're looking at today. Alex Miles Yaw, my son."

"Well, hello everyone.." The doctor came in. "I'm Doctor Hawkes, and let's see what we're dealing with, shall we?" She began to scan Stephanie to find the zygote, and her eyes became bigger when she saw it. "Um... How big of a house do you guys have?" She asked Ryland and me.

"We're going to have to accommodate.... aren't we?" Ryland asked.

"Stephanie... you're carrying triplets." Doctor Hawkes said. "It looks like.... they are two girls, and one boy.."

    "Five kids..." Stephanie said. "Five kids... We have five kids..."

    "You've been through a lot.." Ryland said to Stephanie. "We're proud of you, okay?" She nodded. "It's the same deal with Alex and Reid. We are legal guardians, but you can see them whenever..."

    "I need to see them more than I do with the boys... I hardly have time to see them as it is.... but five kids in total?" Stephanie said. "I don't know how you're going to survive..."

    "We don't need you worrying.." I said. "We were able to pay for Alex's transitioning, and we will be able to support three more kids..."

    "If you're sure...." She said. "Let's do this..."

     Ryland got a promotion at Clevver and was signed to the YouTube management for his own channel, and I was making twice as many videos. Alex was signed, and he became one of the youngest YouTubers to be payed for content. We ended up with more money than we knew what to do with, even after paying for utilities. When the triplets arrived, it was that following summer.

"What are we going to name them?" Stephanie asked us after she took a nap. She hadn't seen the babies yet, since she had lost a lot of blood in the birthing process and needed transfusions.

"Um..." Ryland said. "I have no idea..." He was smiling brightly as he held our daughter. I had never seen him smile like that since Annie and Reid were born, and since Annie became Alex. "Shane?"

"The boys..... James..... and Jacob..." I said. "But I want to name our daughter.... Acelyn Morgan...."

"Ace...?" Stephanie asked. "My sexuality?" She smiled until she cried. "Wow..."

"And my sister's name as her middle name..... I love it.." Ryland said. "Perfect.."
