Chapter Thirty-Eight
Brandon's POV:
After reading Matt email I was wondering did I know Laura at all?
How could it be possible that she has been taking care drugs under my nose and I didn't know.
The medical reports clearly shows how much addict she has been in past few years.
I never thought that she could be insane enough to do drugs and risk her life as well as her health.
The name of drugs that she has been taking are the most addictive and dangerous drugs. That drugs are very hard to handle unless you're an addict and taking them continuously.
According to Matt email her parents Mr and Mrs.Gonzalez wants to have a meeting with me to discuss Laura. As much I know about her parents, they're decent people with successful careers and did their best to make Laura a fine woman.
I replied his email telling him that I'll come Boston next week, and then he could arrange a meeting between me and her parents.
Now my sole focus is on my best friend, the girl who I fell in love a long time ago, but I was scared to admit it to myself.
But everything has changed. Now, I'm not scared of my feelings and I'll show her how much she matters to me.
When the clock struck at ten, I stood up from the bed and made my way to the mirror. I started at myself before leaving the hotel room.
I drove towards the ground where I asked her to come to meet me. Inside I was eighty percent sure that she'll come to meet me but the twenty percent was still unsure of her decision.
The ground was supposed to be close but the presentation of small amount of cash forced them to stretch their closing timing little longer than usual.
I reached thereafter ten minutes drive from hotel and parked my car.
Then I made my way inside the ground with my heart beat accelerating with each step I took to be closer.Madeline was nowhere in the sight and my heart dropped a little. I checked the time on my wrist watch and sighed in relief. I wrote ten fifteen, so I still have a time.
My heart blossomed with the hope that she will come tonight.
Picking up the soccer ball I started kicking it left right from my feet and ran towards the opposite side of the ground to target the goal.
Then I kicked the ball and it landed in the center of the net.
I heard the clapping behind me making me turn around and see Madeline standing there in simple skinny jeans and red jumper.
Her blonde hair were falling in the curly tendrils past her shoulders. I used to cherish her waist length hair but this style suits her better.
She smirked at me and made her way in the center of the ground where I was standing and smiled at me teasingly.
"Playing alone and bathing in the essence of Victory". She taunted me.
"Oh then why don't you play with me". I suggested taking a step closer to her, and I was glad that she didn't take the step back from me.
She smiled again and said "I don't think so you will be able to bear the loss when I'll win after beating you in the game".
Her beautiful face was free from all make up and showing tiny freckles around her nose. I've always loved them, they make her look cute, but she despises them and always cover them with concealer. They're so tiny that if you aren't standing close to her you won't even notice that they are there around her nose.
