Darkness and the End (Edited)

Natsu's POV/ 3rd person?

I knew this would happen. I feel a tear roll down my cheek as I close my eyes I visualize the bond that attached Sting and I and I imagined it being cut. A second later I hear a scream. Sting collapse onto the floor in agony. I can feel the pain, but I had become used to pain it no longer affected me. I reach out feeling for any nearby flame. I latch onto it and teleport. (via elemental teleportation) I see people looking at me in horror and shock but I feel my lips curl into a wicked grin as I feel the evil beast within me awaken once more. He lets the flames run wild people fall onto the ground burned beyond recognition. He just keeps walking everything He passes is engulfed in flame. He's almost out of town when the royal army arrives. He doesn't hesitate even for a moment to burn them into ashes. I can feel this dark energy begin to completely consume me and any emotions I had left begin to disappear. I know this path will only end in my death but Im no longer strong enough to fight it. This path is the one I was put on as soon as those men had grabbed us while on the job. I would...He would burn through ever town he came across until someone killed me killed us? He laughs as we disappear into the forest headed for a new town that he that we could destroy.

Sting POV

I scream in pain as I collapse. I knew what Natsu had done he had broken the mate bond. A few moments later I could hear people begin to scream and the roaring of flames. I could smell the smoke and charred flesh. Rogue grabbed me a terrified look in his eyes. I must've passed out because when I awoke we were out of town the flames were still raging but they had stopped on the edge of town and even though there was still fuel for it to burn for miles around it had stopped. Only magic could stop in such a precise line. "Sting, are you okay?" I heard a voice ask. I turned my head slightly and saw Rogue sitting there beside me. I just started to cry as I sat up and wrapped my arms around him as I cried into his chest. I finally managed to stop. "We have to kill him, you know." I say to everyone as I stand up wiping the last of the tears from my eyes. Everyone looks at me and nods even though they look upset.

Time skip 6 months later

Stings POV
We finally tracked down Natsu. We had pulled the evacuation alarm and as soon as the first scream of the siren had torn through the town the entire place had burst into flames. We were helping people escape to the best of our abilities but I know there would be casualties. The flames burn our clothes and singe our hair as we force our way through trying to find Natsu so we could put a stop to all the chaos and bloodshed. I pause for a moment as I hear singing. It is odd and off key but the voice is  clearly singing "ring around the Rosies , pockets full of Poseys, ashes ashes, we all fall down" followed by a childish giggle. I feel a shiver race up my spine as I turn and startheading towards the noise. The flames part to let us through as we come out of the path of flame. I see Natsu swinging on the swing set. He is in a playground. He pays us no mind as he continues to sing. "Natsu this is over your not going to hurt anyone else ever again." I take a step forward. His head lifts slowly as two blood red orbs lock on me. I'm frozen in my tracks. As I only look on in horror as he slowly rises from the swing his lips curling in a feral grin.
I couldn't move if I tried the attack that hits me rips through me as if I'm tissue paper. I hit the ground with a gapping hole in my chest. "No!" I hear someone scream in horror. In a second Rogue is here beside me weeping. "Kill him." I whisper then everything goes dark. A bright white light appears as I turn and walk towards it. I see a man and a woman standing there. Mom? Dad?" I question they both smile as I run to them fling myself into their arms. "I don't understand?" I whisper in confusion. My fathers voice cuts through the air. "That thing that killed you isn't Natsu. It's a demon. It's taken over complete control of him. It's not his fault. He's your mate he would never do anything to hurt you." I feel a tear run down my cheek at the thought that Natsu was trapped inside his own body with that monster. "Will Natsu be joining us?" My mother smiles sadly "yes" I take their hands and walk into the light.

Natsu's POV

I was crying inside this monster had killed Sting and I couldn't stop it. Rogue's head lifts from Sting's still body. I have never seen anyone look so angry. I could feel the demon getting ready for another attack as Rogue lunges the demon dodges grabbing Rogue and slamming him onto the ground. The demon had put a wall of fire to prevent the Sabertooth guild members from helping Sting and Rogue. The demons hand morphed into a talon as it's arm lifted backwards. "I'm not Natsu. I'm just using his body. He's crying you know he doesn't want me to kill you or Sting or any of the other innocent people I've killed." The demons laugh tears through the air as he rips out Rogue's heart. The demon rises  to his feet taking a step towards the Sabertooth guild members. I feel a searing pain tear through me as I look down. I see a sword sticking out of my heart. The demon was immediately forced from my body as soon as the fatal blow hit. I collapse onto the ground . Blood was pouring out of my body it ran from the corner of my mouth as I struggled to breath. I managed to whisper a "thank you" to Erza who had been the one to stop the demon. My eyes drift to Stings limp body and tears begin to race down my cheeks. I reach towards Sting whispering a gurgled "I'm sorry. I love you." before I take my last breath.

3rd persons POV

As the flames die off leaving the two guilds looking at each other. Everyone began to cry for Natsu whose life had been lost and for Sting and Rogue who died trying to free him. They had killed the demon and stopped the carnage but at a great price three innocent souls had been lost to this battle and many of the towns people were badly injured, dead, or dying. The mages has won but this didn't feel like a victory. The Sabertooth guild disbanded a year after the incident. Some joined other guilds, others wandered from town to town taking odd and n jobs to survive, some simply seemed to vanish as if they never existed at all, and other turned dark and were imprisoned or killed. The FairyTail guild lasted for another 5 years until Makorov died and then they too split up. Most never rejoined a guild and the few who did were young. Most simply wandered doing whatever jobs they could. The world became ruled by darkness and Zeref came to power. The entire world withered and died away. The battle may have been won but the war was lost.
___________________________well this was depressing. My other fanfic Torn wings ended relatively happily so I had to make a depressing ending. So yeah Sting, Rogue, and Natsu all die. Zeref rules and the entire earth begins to die off. So in the end humanity dies out and there is nothing.
