He enveloped her in his arms, but not fast enough and her head crashed into the clock in his chest. The clock face cracked. They both collapsed to the floor, his arms still wrapped around her.

Mirana froze, the white queen's army general, who was close by heard the noise of the fall and came to investigate. He was shocked to see the pair on the floor, unconscious. Mirana explained the situation and ordered him to send for the champion as well the other Hightopps, as most of them were also practiced in medicine and to send some guards down to move the pair, carefully to rooms in the palace.

Mirana was over come with fear. After the General left she didn't know what to do. Careful she rolled her sister off the man she so oblivious loved, though never admitted it- Mirana knew she did though, to see what damage had been done.

Iracebeth's head was swelling at an alarming rate, just like it did when they were children. The clock face in Time's chest had several cracks in it. But their hands were still intertwined and it broke Mirana's heart as the immortal was surely dying. It would probably be the last time they touched.

The guards arrived and following the queen's very strict orders under her eagle eyes, very careful they brought they pair to the castle.

The Hightopps arrived shortly after. Mirana explained the situation and the Hightopps set out to work, trying to help the pair. Tarrant made tea for the queen to help her relax. Alice paced until the Mirana was deemed calm enough by the hatter.

"I don't what to do," Mirana cried. "Racie's head is growing again and the man I believe she loves is probably dying!"
"Calm down Mirana, Tarrant might decide you're not allowed to talk again and then we'll never get anywhere," Hetty said teasingly but seriously.
"Hetty this isn't the time for jokes," her older brother corrected.
"Sorry only trying to lighten the mood," she grumbled.
"Leave her alone Tarrant," ordered the hatter's wife. "Mirana could you please explain this again?"
"Of course," the queen replied. "Time came to tea, Racie stood up to greet him. She made her way over to him as he told us about Felmont, the old knave of hearts, how he planned to me kill me to hurt Iracebeth and then her kill her. Then Racie passed out." Mirana was crying as she finished.
Alice hugged and said "We will stop him, we stopped every evil that has threatened Underland so far and we will do it again."
"Thank you Alice," the queen smiled.
"I think the first place we'll find answers is Time's castle," Tarrant offered.
"Yes, I was thinking the same thing," Alice agreed.
"Well then you and u shall go and see what we can find out there and Hetty you stay here and look after Mirana. Mirana you relax, we'll sort this out in no time," Tarrant said taking command.
"Well that's sorted, we'll just check in to see how your family is doing with the patients," Alice replied.

The patients, as Alice called them, were not doing very well at all. Neither one had woken up yet and the Hightopps were beginning to worry as neither made any sign of waking up soon. Things were not looking good.

"Let's go to Time's castle, Cricket. Before it's too late," the hatter said to his wife. She merely hummed in reply.
