There is no way to come back to life, not in Underland, or in any other land for that matter. So when Thackery Earwicket died, no one wanted to believe it and those who saw it were angry and blamed themselves. The ordeal happened so quickly, he couldn't have been in pain. But that brought no comfort to his friends least of all Tarrant Hightopp who had to be told what happened.

Flashback:
" Well, well, well. What have we here?" Asked Felmont as he appeared from nowhere.
"What are you doing here, Felmont?" Asked Zanik Hightopp.
"Making good on my word, I assume by now Time has warned you of my plan and payed the price," Felmont made his way to centre of the room.
"What do mean payed the price?" Mirana asked having just exited the room where her sister was being attended to.
"I mean I asked some of my new friends to cast a curse to help me. It means that anyone who tries to stop me from hurting your sister, will have their watch stopped early!" Felmont was insane. "Oh and here's some of my new friends now!" He laughed in a deranged manner when the plant people than Iracebeth reigned like a tyrant over in the Outlands appeared, armed.

A battle like no other commenced. Former allies against the red queen fought each other, Mirana and her friends against the oppressed of Outlands. Felmont constantly try to make it to Mirana but was pulled in battle with her friends. Many of the Outlandish plant people were killed and they began to retreat. Felmont would not- until the inevitable happened.

Felmont was currently dueling Thackeray. They were both giving their all to their cause but in the end. Felmont knocked Thackery's ladle from his hand and in that split second of Thackeray's shock, the former knave ran him through.

The March Hare was no more and the knave fled, almost as if he were ashamed that his blade claimed the life of someone other than its intended. But for everyone else it was though the world had stopped and we're about to shatter. They could do anything for him he was gone as soon as Felmont had removed his blade. He fell into death's cold arms gently yet suddenly, dying without being in the hands of a loved one but with nearly all of the watching horrified and with nothing they could do for him.

He hit the floor eyes closed, wound gushing and dead.
*Flash back end*

It was the unfortunate duty of those present to tell Tarrant, the only family Thackery had left, that his best friend was dead. The mad hatter collapsed into his wife's arms and sobbed ugly, distraught cries as silent tear fell down her own face. After a few moments he demanded to see the body, and they complied with his wishes.

Tarrant couldn't handle seeing his best friend's corpse. He buried his into Alice's chest. He fell to his knees and she came down with him, holding him close. "I'm here mo grá. I'm here," his wife whispered, soothing him as she rocked his shaking form.

The others in room had all either gotten past Tarrant's stage of grief or were holding it together for his sake. But no matter who you were you were in tears.

Hetty then spoke up, "I'll go check on Time and Iracebeth," she mumbled. No one objected it even answered.

She left the room but reappeared through the door moments later in a panic.

"Time is gone!"
