It had been a week since our date and often we'd meet up in his office to 'talk about work'. I wouldn't be lying if I went into his room every day to work but I would if it was considered a different type of education. We did ,however, try not to meet up too often to avoid suspicion from classmates and teachers. There had been a change in me since we first met. I've been happier, more confident and care-free and Angie picked up on that.
"Hello my ray of sunshine." Angie said as she approached me after class "What sun spell are you casting on the world today?"
I chuckled "None, Already released my share for today. And would you kindly stop calling me your 'ray of sunshine' It is quite annoying." She took a detour to the bathroom, saying to meet her at the house.
I turned the corner and crashed into a muscled chest, which made me drop my books to the floor. I let out a sigh and bent down to pick up what came tumbling to the floor. "Oh my god I am so so sorry. I didn't see you coming." The strangers voice was deep and smooth like butter, he bent down to help pick up my things. "I-it's fine." A slowly stood up and looked at the man.
Oh. My. God
He was a dream. Dark hair, green eyes, a jawline you could cut yourself on, his muscles stretched the fabric of his t-shirt. And the captain of our football team. He stood and looked me in the eye "I should've looked where I was going." A small smirk appeared in his face. He passed over the books he held in his hands "So is their a stunning name to go along with your beautiful face?" I smiled
"Jasmine but I go by Jas."
"Dean," as if I didn't already know that. He quickly scribbled on a piece of paper and placed it on my books "I'll see you around." He smiled and walked off, patting my shoulder as he passed. I watched him before he turned the corner and quickly opened the note. A phone number. His phone number. I practically squealed as I shoved in back in my bag. I know I should be thinking about Jake but Dean, Dean gave me his number.I dashed into the house and threw myself onto the sofa. I input Dean's number into my contacts and text him
Hey it's Jas, here's my number Xx
Hey, how's the books?
They're good not damaged XD
Heh. Anyway should be off, exam tomorrow
Okay have fun X
Will do :P
I went to bed smiling that night.I was woken by my phone vibrating against my bedside table. I wearily opened my eyes hissing at the noise. Reluctantly, I picked up the phone and put it to my ear "Jake... it's midnight. What do you want?"
"Sorry I just can't stop thinking... I just got a call from Ali.. I mean Alice" my blood boiled at her name. She was my friend. My best friend in fact and Jake's ex. When this all cracked off she left, stopped talking to me completely "What did she want?"
"She called me a half hour ago and I don't know if I should be more worried about her talking about burying a dead body or-"
"Wait. Did you just say bury a dead body... like she killed someone? How can you simply brush by a thing like that?"
"Look she helped me when I needed it I just relayed the favour."
"You should call the police!"
"I shall do no such thing. She didn't turn me in so I'm not going to do the same to her."
"Jake.. what do you mean..."
"I may have killed someone in the past and she helped me through it by-"
"Jake! Are you mad?! You could've gone to jail. You could still go to jail"
"Calm down, it's fine. I'm fine.."
I took a deep breath "What else. Were you going to say?"
"She knows... about us..." my heart skipped a beat, in fact I think it stopped all together "I-I'm coming over. Now. Unlock the door." I hung up on him and left the house, grabbing my coat on the way out.I drove to his house and barged inside, he was waiting in the living room. He looked up at me and walked over. I greeted him with a slap around the cheek. He rubbed his face "okay, I deserved that."
"What were you thinking?"
"Look, it was dark and I ran him over. It was an accident I didn't mean it." He took a deep breath "What are we going to do..?" He put his head in his hands and I brought him into a warm embrace, stroking his hair. "We're going to be fine. Where did she say she was going. To the bridge a few miles away." I turned on the heel and headed towards the door "Where are you going?"
"WE are going to going to bury a body. So get in the car."
