The Real Cost
The commercials on my mind
As i put a cigarette to my lips
I know it's bad
I'm destroying my lungs
And I might have a heart attack
And so many other issues
I know I shouldn't
But I do
It takes the edge off
I'm finally
Not scared or nervous
Everything seems to fall in place
When that small pack of poison is put in me
I take a deep breathe in
As the smoke fills my lungs
When I was younger I didn't understand why people would smoke
But now that I've seen the world
I understand why people smoke their lungs black
And drink their nights away
I breathe out the pressure leaves along with the smoke
I know it's bad for me and my health
But I don't care anymore
Because
This pack of smokes is the gateway to my own personal happiness
