*Before Percy Disappears*
Annabeth sat at the dock early one Saturday morning, watching as the waves hit the shore. She loved the sea as it reminded her of Percy. Her boyfriend. Her new boyfriend. She smiled at the thought. Finally, her and Percy were dating. They had been for about 3 weeks now.
Someone sat down next to her and she turned to see them. She smiled as she saw Percy happily watching the water with her. She grabbed his hand and they sat there in a comfortable silence.
"Hey Annabeth?" Percy suddenly spoke. She looked at him.
"Yea?" She asked.
"Do you wanna go out to dinner or somethin later.." he said a little quiet, looking at the dock, then the water, then finally at her. She smiled but inside she was freaking out a little bit. This would be their first date. Oh gods.
"Sure. Pick me up at 7?" She asked giving him a smile. He smiled back and nodded.
They continued their day, going through it like normal. Eating, fighting, swimming, hanging out in their cabins. Around 6:15, Annabeth went to her cabin to get ready. Percy had said it would be a nicer place so she decided she might as well wear a dress. She hated them but she'd wear one on a date with Percy.
She put on a sea-green dress that reached a little bit above her knees. She had her hair lay naturally curly on her shoulders and wore no make-up, there was no way she wanted to wear that stuff. She also had on little silver flats and her camp necklace. When Percy came to pick her up, he just stared at her. When he didn't say anything and was just looking at her, Annabeth blushed and looked away. Did she really look that bad? That he couldn't even say anything?
"You- You look beautiful Annabeth." He said smiling. She smiled back a thanks and took his hand. They walked to the car and went to the restaurant. They didn't talk much in the car but it was a comfortable silence. After a little while though, Annabeth started getting a little worried. Would it be like this at dinner? Would it just be silent and neither of them would say anything? What if he thought she was boring and broke up with her? Annabeth shook the thoughts away. He wouldn't be dating her if he thought she was boring or something.
Right?
They arrived at the restaurant and walked in. They were escorted to their table and they sat down. They ordered their drinks and once the waitress left, looked at each other. Annabeth didn't know what to say. He looked at his menu and Annabeth took a deep breath and tried to make conversation.
"What are you going to get?" She asked him. He squinted at the menu.
"I don't know. I can barely read this thing!" He said with a sigh. Annabeth let out a small laugh. She looked at her menu and slowly read out everything on it. Luckily it wasn't too much.
"Hmmm... I think I'll get the steak. What about you?" Percy asked.
"I'll probably get the same" she replied. After they ordered their meals, the awkwardness disappeared and they talked and talked like the best friends (and boyfriend and girlfriend) like they were. They got their food and ate, talking in between their bites. After they were done, a guy came and gave them their check. While Percy got money out, he tried to flirt with Annabeth.
"You look so beautiful." He said winking at her. Annabeth rolled her eyes and looked at Percy seeing his response. He had stopped what he was doing and was glaring daggers at him.
"What are you doin here with him? I could take care of a doll like you better." He said. Percy couldn't have looked more pissed at the world. Percy shoved the check and money at the guy. He looked at it.
"What no tip? Cheap." He said rolling his eyes. He winked at Annabeth one last time.
"Come on with me babe." He said putting his hand on her shoulder. In a flash he was on the ground clutching his face. Percy had jumped up and punched him. She grabbed his hand and quickly got out of there. While they were walked to the car, she looked at him.
"Thank you Percy." She said. He stopped walking.
"For stopping that guy?" He asked. She shook her head.
"For everything. Thank you for everything you do for me." She said smiling at him. He smiled back. They leaned in for a kiss and continued walking to the car. Annabeth was worried for nothing. It was the perfect first date.
