SWEET 'N SOUR || DONNY MONTELL

"What are we doing?" I ask curiously.

Besides not being able to make decisions, my curiousity was one of my flaws.

At least at some moments.

He looks at me quickly and smiles, ignoring my question. He focuses his eyes back on the road.

Rude.

"Soooo, can you at least give me a hint?" I try again.

He laughs and reaches out for my hand, intertwining it with his and then resting them on my knee. The simple and small gesture immediately makes my cheeks heat up.

I decide not to pry any further, as I wasn't going to get anything anyway.

After what seemed like hours, but what in reality was probably only around ten minutes, we arrived at the place Donny was taking me to.

I still had no idea what we were doing, as we were now in a pretty remote looking parking lot.

"I think it would be a good idea for you to tell me why we are here, given that it's late, nearly dark, and pretty remote." I say, as he walks around the car to get something from the back. "It's not exactly looking bright for you- or me for that matter."

"You really have no patience." He laughs. "Come on, we have to go this way."

"No, I'm just curious." I defend myself and follow him eagerly, now really wanting to know what we were doing.

I didn't have to wait long, because right around the corner was a path leading through the dunes.

I looked around, but the dunes completely blocked out everything. Even though I could guess that there was a sea behind them. That didn't exactly make it less confusing as to what we were going to do.

Once we were over the small hill the path was leading up to, I could finally see the beautiful beach that was hiding behind it.

Donny stops walking right before the sandy beach starts and the path stops.

"Wow." Is all I can say.

It looked truly stunning, and I couldn't believe I had never been here before, or at least knew about it's existence.

"It's pretty, right?" He says, looking at me curiously.

"It's amazing." I tell him

We walk a little further down the beach. The sun was now nearly all the way down, and the beach itself pretty much empty.

Donny lays down a blanket on the sand, "We," he starts, pointing between the two of us, "are stargazing tonight."

"Stargazing." I repeated, a smile present on my face.

"Yeah, I hope you like it." He says, and scratches his head nervously.

I nod my head excitedly, "Yes. I love it."

He motions for me to lay down on the blanket he brought, and I do so. Donny lays down next to me.

"I wasn't sure if you would." He admits.

"I do. My dad used to take me stargazing all the time when I was younger. We'd go to different places all around town, lay down and look at the stars. Sometimes just in our backyard." I tell him, thinking back to all the memories and smiling.

It was a perfect night to be stargazing. The skies were all clear and everything was clearly visible.

Suddenly Donny's hand grabs mine again, and even though by now it wasn't new to me, it made me feel all the same as it had the first time he did it.

We lay in silence for some time, just looking at the stars and enjoying each others presence.

I scoot closer to him, resting my head against his arm.

I feel him tense a little against my touch.

After a few more hours of just laying down, talking and walking down the beach, we decided that it was time to go.

Once we are back in the car, I start to yawn, suddenly hit by tiredness.

Donny takes me back to the hotel I was staying in. I jolt awake by the sound of a car door slamming shut. Seconds later the door on my side opens, and he smiles at me.

So I get out of the car quickly, leaving us standing there with each other awkwardly.

"I had fun." I tell him.

"Me too." He says and smiles, leaving us standing in silence again.

He leans down to me, and in when he's almost closed the distance between us I turn my head to side so that instead of kissing my lips, he kisses my cheek.

And at that moment, I didn't know why, but whatever made me do that had made it clear that Donny wouldn't be my choice.

I hope this was okay, as I've never written about Donny before and it's all quite new to me ahahah

I always get this when I've never written about someone before, it's weird
