Kakariko was a quaint isolated civilization, elaborately linked to ancient history that spanned across the ages. Within the village rested charming traditional houses. The acreage surrounding the secretive tribe was covered in steep rocky mountains, rolling hills, and grassy plains filled with an abundance of wildlife.
The atmosphere of the village clamored with noises of fellow Sheikah men and women working laboriously to build new houses along with chirper voices of outsiders that drifted to (Y/n)'s sensitive ears.
Ever since the discovery of Vah Hylana and the other Divine Beasts, they've become somewhat of a tourist attraction. Don't even get (Y/n) started on the annoying female journalist from the Rumor Mill that practically demanded every last detail of the Divine Beasts.
A rather irritated comment ran through (Y/n)'s mind as she thought of the aggravating older woman. As if that'll ever happen. The only thing she'll be getting a good look at is my fist connecting with her face if she bothers me, or any of the other Champions, again.
Though, the nosy journalist wasn't the only person interested in the five ancient beasts. People everywhere were intrigued by the god-like mechanical beings ever since the day they were unearthed. This brought forth new faces along with unwanted attention from all walks of life, and it peeved (Y/n) for their total disregard of privacy.
So what if they were curious?
(Y/n) sent a threatening scowl at someone who blocked the path to her precious Divine Beast, dragging a sheepish Link behind her. The chosen hero was quietly mumbling apologies under his breath to the people (Y/n) elbowed out of the way.
Yeah, she had to babysit the swordsman, which meant him tagging along wherever she went. Not to mention (Y/n) was forced to become Link's mentor until she was certain his skills were adequate should he ever find himself in a dangerous situation alone. After all, he was someone of extreme importance, his role in defeating Ganon a harrowing prophecy foretold and retold across the lands since ancient times.
Mutely thinking over everything still required her attention, together, Link and (Y/n) climbed the slope to Vah Hylana. It huddled close to the epicenter of a short mountain. Half of the stone had been chipped off the Divine Beast to actually access the entire thing.
The mechanical being was hugging the ground in a sleeping position, and (Y/n) couldn't hold in her sigh, thankful that no damage had come upon it since the last time she was in Kakariko.
Pressing a hand against the side of Vah Hylana, it's functions started whirring and turning, reacting to (Y/n)'s appraising touch. Soon enough, a platform lowered near the rear of the beast. The entrance revealed a single, massive room, complete with interlacing walkways connecting to the bottom passageway of Vah Hylana all the way to the front. Sets of stairs were set up for easy access to all of the available hidden rooms (Y/n) had yet to explore due to her busy schedule.
In all honesty, this was (Y/n)'s second time standing within the belly of the beast, and the undeniable need to indulge her inner brainiac was almost too much to bear.
With Link still walking behind her, (Y/n) furtively glanced back at him. His glimmering, cerulean eyes were alight with fascination as he surveyed the structure of Vah Hylana from the inside. Link's footsteps were slightly hesitant, like he was stepping into forbidden territory.
Something stirred in (Y/N)'s stomach as she sneakily peered at his handsome face. It wasn't the first time this unknown feeling rushed through her veins and made her heart soften a minuscule amount.
