Just five more minutes

My eyes opened awake abruptly as a loud 'bang' was heard in the house.

"Dyl?", I asked. My husband groaned next to me. So it had to be Simon, my son.

Another loud sound echoed in the house.

"Dylan !", I exclaimed. I turned to face him and was greeted by his annoyed, sleeping expression. His eyes opened slowly, smiling when he saw me.

"Hey baby", he said, wrapping an arm around me as he placed a kiss in my hair.

"Dyl did you not hear that?", I asked, sounding a bit alarmed. He frowned, pulling away from me.

"Hear what?", he asked. He was such a heavy sleeper.

"Simon's making trouble again.", I said. My lover immediately rolled his eyes at his son.

"Go get him.", he said, turning over and closing his eyes.

"No chance.", I said, also closing my eyes.

"Okay, I'll go, but five more minutes.", he said. There was a long moment of silence before another bang was heard. Dylan groaned loudly.

"Simon!", he yelled, "Get up here!"

We heard light footsteps get up the stairs quickly.

"Yes daddy?", Simon asked, his smile showing the three teeth he had.

Dylan sat up in our bed and raised an eyebrow at his son, who looked exactly like him by the way.

"What are you doing down there? You're pretty loud.", he said. Simon winced and smiled innocently.

"I'm sorry daddy I was just playing with my soccer ball.", he said. My eyes widened along with Dylan's. When Simon played with his soccer ball inside, it never ended well.

"Simon, you know mommy and I don't want you to play with your soccer ball,or any ball inside. How many times do we have to tell you?", Dylan said, more sternly than he should have. Simon frowned, clearly mad at himself for disobeying his dad again.

"Dylan, it's not that big of a deal.", I said, getting up to get to Simon, who was clearly upset. I took my son in my arms, trying to make him feel better. "It's okay baby you're forgiven. Right Dylan?", I asked my husband. Wanting him to apologize.

"Yeah buddy we forgive you, just don't do it again alright?", Dylan said. Simon nodded as he wiggled out of my arms to run to his dad. The admiration and love this little boy had for his dad still amazed me after three years. His dad was the only thing he wanted to be. I once asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, and he said 'daddy'.

"C'mon Y/N, family hug.", Dylan grinned, opening his arms wide to make room for me. I walked over to the loves of my life and got comfortable in Dylan's embrace.

"I love you both.", I said.

"We love you too."
