It took me a couple of days to heal up having a witch around definitely sped things up though. Injuries that should have taken years to heal only took about 5 days. Still missing a fricken hand though guess there is limits to magic. Before we left I wanted to do something real quick. I looked around Amy and Steph's house and found some wire a bit of coil. I lied it all down all the table and took out the tooth. A momento of my first fight. Even though I technically lost but hey we don't need to be nitty gritty with all the details. When it was done I strapped it around my neck and met everyone in the living room.
"Okay so you guys ready my dad comes home in 35 minutes." Stephanie clearly wanted us out of here before her dad saw us I really didn't blame her.
"All good over the river and through the woods to a random cabin we go.", said James.
Without anymore small talk we all went into the park in the middle of the night on a day of a waxing moon luckily. We found the house easily enough it was right next to a small little lake surrounded by trees.
"So do we like knock or something?"
"Yes James, we just go up and knock on the door in the middle of the night hoping he's friendly."
"Okay yeesh sorry Steph"
"I have a better idea."
I had us all spread out while James knocked on the door because he looked the friendliest. When he knocked at first nothing happened then a few minutes later the door just slowly creaked open. Well that looks like a good sign.
We all walked in more alert than ever. The place was nice enough it had a wood burning fire place with a black leather couch and a small TV with one of those old school tv stands. The kitchen was just a table with a single chair and weirdly no stove.
There were doors branching out of the living room one had a Star Wars Empire Strikes back Poster on it and read
"Warning Now Entering The Domain of a Jedi Master."
Oh great another nerd I knocked on the door and a boy with brownish blonde hair came out of the door.
"Okay if this is about the whole borrowing $15,000 from you guys I promise I'll pay you back I just need a little more time."
Okay well I'm officially concerned James walked in and did the talking.
"Oh so you want to know about......"
He stopped suddenly and started whispering some random gibberish.
His eyes turned to full grey his body disappeared into shadow. Oh no not again. We all got into a triangle formation where did he go? Then a rush of darkness came flying at us as if we were being attacked by the shadows around us.
"Revoke!"
Her hands glowed to a pinkish purple and aimed at the shadow. It went right through him.
"Sorry sweetheart but you can't touch a shadow."
"Great he just had to be a Shade!"
Another undefeatable foe another road block. Not this time I know about Shades because their rules are right next to werewolves and I had accidentally followed theirs for like 6 months before I realized I couldn't walk into walls. Anyways not the point these things need to bond to something in order to stay around and wherever the shadow sticks out of that's what let's it show. I looked around nothing but darkness his shadow covered all. Okay I just have to shrink him.
"Hey Stephanie get me some light!"
"Light!" She shouted, how original.
Her hands glowed like torches and it forced him to take the shape of a dark knight and honestly I liked the other one better at least I could be afraid of something I couldn't see I better find this source quick or I might just shit my pants.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a silver banded ring with a purple gem stone with a shadow of something much more sinister. That must be it, I thought of the full moon drawing power from it's light letting it consume me and when I opened my eyes I was Arris. I leapt to the ring and did a safety tuck back into Danny. I placed my hand over the gem covering up the shadow. Darkness switched to flesh and in front of me was who ever it was I was talking to before. I have to make sure he won't turn back he could kill me and my friends even though I barely even ever spoke to Stephanie she still matters and James has been one of my best friends for years. I didn't know this kid. I wouldn't have to feel any remorse,
In killing him.
