AMERICA

I didn't remember much from the homecoming. No one else was there. I guess they didn't think I would lose.
I walked straight through all the hugs and apologies. I did not have the strength to deal with those.
All I know for sure is that I did not speak to Aspen.
A few days later, I got a letter back. Mom squealed when she saw the royal seal... I never got to tell her about the first letter.
So when she asked me to read it aloud, I shook my head and locked myself into my room. I was afraid to open it.
Dear Lady America Singer,
I would like to skip formalities too.
You can not call me stupid. If you were here, we could have you caned for that. Not that we would...
That was the ex-boyfriend? The guard I trusted you with? And here you are, calling me stupid. America, I had never seen you two together other than in formal state! After that 'incident' I could assume many things went on in your room.
I guess it's just another thing to add to my list of faults. But you're wrong America. No matter what you have done, there is still a peice of me that... cares for you.
Also, Kriss insisted that I attach an invitation to our wedding. It's in a week. She would like me to remind you of your promise: 'We would be happy for whoever won no matter what'
Someone that used to love you,
Maxon Schreave
Yes, Kriss. I will be there. I will be happy for you. But if the Prince says he's getting glares from me, I'm not going to leave.
