Another Romance

Chapter 36

His eyes blinks gently opens. Lance stared at his wooden ceiling for a moment and feel the heat of the sun ray from his window hitting his skin indicates that it is time to get up.

"techaer Faight, gisng na..."

He turned to his left side and noticed too late that it is empty.

"Faight???" He stood up and wandered all around his room but even her belongings are missing. He grabbed and put on his shirt as he searched his entire cabin.

"FAIGHT?!!! Faight? nasaan ka?"

He checked out every room but she's not there. He went outside in the dining table she's not there.

"FAIGHT!!!" He shoted even more. He runs towards the lake but finds her not. Lance paused for a while and gathered his thoughts.

He runs towards his truck but realized that he didn't have the key with him. He runs back inside to get it and runs back to his truck. Without realizing his barefoot, buddy and his hair untied he hurried his way and continues his search for Faight.

Lance almost scared the students as he went there first hoping to find their missing teacher.

\"MAriz!!!"

"sir LANCE! juskopo anong angyare sayo? bakit ganayn itsura o paa mo putikan? wala ka pang tisnelas?"

"si Faight? nandito ba siya? pumasok ba siya?"

"ha? of all people ha dont tell me hindi mo alam saan siya"

"bakit? saan ba siya?"

"diba ngayon alis niya pa-davao? diba tuloy na siya abroad?"

He stepped back and felt helpless. But he regained his strength back and went to Faight's apartment. But the owner afraid that he might break the door told him quickly that Faight had left two hours ago.

The roar of his engine can be heard all over the place. 

"bosss!!! si Leuel yun oh ang bilis ng patakbo ah?"

"oo nga noh? baka may hinahabol... bro, do it right this time"

After hearing that Faight's terminal had already left, without a second thought, he drove himself off to Davao to catch up on Faight.

After nine hours, without anything to eat, barefoot Lance made it to Davao. He went to her parent's house first when Mariz told him that Faight's schedule is till on midnight.

He pushed the doorbell as hard as he could.

"Oh Lance!!! anong nagyari sayo iho? bakit nandito ka? hindi ka sumunod sa airport?"

"po? si Faight po?"

"eh may dadaanan muna daw bago siya pupunta ng airport kaya hindi na nagpahatid"

He buried his face in his hands and shakes his head.

"anak, dalian mo na. mahahabol mo pa yun!"

"sige po, salmat po"

He drove fast to the airport. He checked all the flight details and made sure Faight's plane hasn't taken off.

The crowd looks at him, judging him. Lance who is wearing a ripped jeans, crumpled white shirt, and muddy barefoot, he didn't even took the time to tie his hair walks back and forth restless. He sat for a while then stands again, hoping and praying that Faight hasn't checked in yet.

But few meter from him, Faight hiding from a pillar can see him. she already saw her when she's approaching the entrance. She peeks again and when she noticed Lance isn' there anymore, she went forth to enter. But all of a sudden, Lance interrupted her way.

Pretending to be cool and collect, she greeted Lance.

"Lance!!andito ka?teka anong nangyari sayo? wala ka pa atang ligo ah pero in fairness gwapo kapa rin"

"am i not deserving of your good ye? of all people Faight? bakit sakin pa?"

"Lance, tulog na tulog ka kasi syempre ayokong istorbohin kapa"

"cut the childish reasoning already Faight! c'mon""Faight, the moment I felt you're not yet ready to commit hinayaan kita, but if you feel so burdened I won't stop you for leaving. I told you before susuportahan kita, diba?"

"you are not a burden Lance"

"then what? yung distance ba? diba sabi ko sayo susundan kita? kahit saan, kahit kailan mo gusto mo susundan kita we can see each other be with each other still!"

"that's the whole point Lance! I don't ant to see you!"

"what??? no, sinasabi mo lang yan to push me away, I tell you what no matter what you do you can't push me away from you"

"Lance stop!!! masyado ka alng na-excite sa atin, sa mga pangyayari sa atin, wah kang masyadong magpadala sa emosyon mo"

"what??? Faight what are you saying?" He grabbed her arms gently "Faight I know you want to prove something to yourself, tell me to wait, maghihintay ako, kung gusto mo munang mapag-isa sige hahayaan kita juts, juts tell me to wait and I'll wait"

"Lance, Don't waste your time on me!"

"why not?!"

"because you deserve the best!!! you deserve everything Lance!!!"

"but you are my everything! Faight, I love you! mahal na mahal kita!"

"Lance.... I'm not coming back"

He paused and removed his arms off of her. He stepped back and looked down. He let his tears fall. Lance grabbed her one last time and kissed her forehead.

He left her standing there, and left without a word.

Sh went straight inside the airport and looks for a private place. She entered the restroom and locked herself in a cubicle. There inside, she mourned her most painful and loudest silent cry.

"I love you, I love you so much Lance, I'm sorry I am so sorry"
