The Phone Call

Chapter 18

Nialls POV

A few days had passed and it was finally Friday. Mark and Jay along with Maddie was flying in to have dinner here at my house. My dad was already at the airport picking them up. Lauren had no clue that Maddie was coming and I couldn't wait to surprise her.

"Niall, where did you put Masons baby wash?" I heard Lauren ask from the door. I turned around to see her in a pair of my sweats and just a tank. She had her hair in a messy bun and there wasn't a bit of makeup on her face. She looked absolutely beautiful to me. I smiled to her as I went to Masons bag and grabbed it from the side pocket. "Here you go sweetie, I put away as soon as i have him a bath the other day." I said walking to her and wrapping my arms around her as she turned around.

"By the way, I have a surprise for you once you are ready." I said winking at her. As she walked away, I heard the front door open, so I made my way down there. As I turned the corner of the staircase, there stood Maddie,Mark and Jay.

"Niall!!" Maddie screamed and ran toward me. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into a Horan hug.

"I've missed you Niall!" She said while hugging me. I let go of her and as I was going to give Jay a hug, the door opened again.

"Louis!!!" I screamed running and giving my best mate a hug.

"I though you were spending Thanksgiving with Eleanor?" I said with a confused but happy face.

"About that,.." Louis trailed off. Eleanor stepped from behind Louis into eye sight.

"Ohh, well that's fine. Mum loves having people come over for food." I said while giving her a hug. My mum had already taken Mark and Jay to their rooms and left Maddie downstairs. So I took my chance to go ask Mark for Lauren's hand in marriage. I made my way up the steps and met Jay coming down.

"Jay, is Mark still upstairs?" I asked. She nodded and walked on. I made my way to the guess room that Mark was staying in and knocked. I was soon met with Mark opening the door with a phone to his ear. He motioned me in a he continued to talk on the phone. I hear a few mhmm, okay, yes, and finally a bye.

"So Niall, what brings you to my room?" Mark asked me. I could feel my hands becoming sweaty.

"Umm, Mark.. I was.." That was all I could spit out. Nothing that I wanted to say would come out.

"Go on Niall." Mark said.

"Umm, I was wanting to ask you for Lauren's hand in marriage. You are her father now and I wanted to ask you. You have been more of a father to her then her actually father was. I love her, and Mason. I just want her to be my wife." I said proudly. At the end Mark looked at me and smiled.

"Niall, you have my approval. I would love for you to marry Lauren." He said proudly. I quickly shook his Han and thanked him while pulling him into a hug. I ran down the stairs in search for Louis. It was almost time for dinner and I knew that Maddie and Lauren would be getting ready along with Eleanor. I found Louis out back with my dad at the grill with a beer in hand.

"Hey Louis, can I talk to you for a bit?" I asked. Louis was my best mate but also Lauren's brother.

"Yeah mate, what's up?" Louis said while walking away with me.

"Well I asked Mark for permission to marry Lauren and I wanted to let you know before I proposed to her tonight.". I said to him with a smile.

"Mate that's amazing. I'm so happy for you." Louis said pulling me into a hug.

"Also, I wanted to know if you would be my best man at the wedding." I asked. Louis smiled really big, "of course I will." Louis exclaimed. I thanked him and headed upstairs to get ready. I walked into my room to see Lauren in a beautiful burnt orange dress with her hair curled beautifully. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her.

"You look beautiful." I said kissing the top of her head. She smiled and turned around and kissed my cheek.

"You're clothes are hanging up in the bathroom. Please go take a shower and get ready." Lauren told me. I lived how she had already picked out clothes for me. As soon as I got into the shower I heard Mason start to cry. I figured that Lauren was dressing him and he didn't like it. I finished up and fixed my hair and slipped on my clothes. I walked out of the loo to see that Lauren had made her way downstairs along with Mason. I walked over to my dresser and pulled out the pretty teal blue box and slipped it into my pants pocket. Luckily my pants were bagging enough not to make an outline around the box. I made my way downstairs to see everyone sitting at the dining table but my mother and Lauren. Eleanor was seated next to Louis with Mason in her lap. I walked to my seat and as I sat down Lauren and my mum walked into the dining room with the rest of the food. Lauren took her seat next to me as Eleanor handed her Mason. My father said a quick blessing over the food and everyone started to pile the food on to their plates. I looked over after I had finished to see Lauren struggling to hold Mason and eat.

" Here give him to me." I said with a smile. She handed me Mason and I sat him in my lap. I wanted my little guy to help me ask his mommy to marry his daddy. I was gonna wait to everyone was finished with their dinner before I made the big announcement.

Once everyone was done, I started to feel my hands get sweaty and my cheeks becoming red.

"I have something to say to Lauren." I smiled looking over at her. I stood up holding Mason in my arms. While everyone turned their attention to me.

"Lauren, I absolutely love you. If it hadn't been for little Maddie here running off from you, I would have never found the love of my life. I couldn't have asked for anyone better to start a family with. The day I met you and looked into those beautiful blue eyes, I knew that I wanted to be with you. At that moment I didn't know that I would end up with a son, but I am so happy that I did. I love you and Mason. I would give my life for both of you. So Lauren..." I said as I lowered I to one knee an pulled out the box and opening it. Lauren's hand went to her mouth as tears rolled down her cheek.

"Will you marry me?" I asked while holding Mason.

"Yes! Yes! A million times yes!" She screamed. I pulled the ring out and slid it on to her finger.

"We love you Lauren." I said looking down at Mason ad then back to Lauren. I leaned in and we kissed. there was ton of woohoo! And then there is the little kids saying eww!
