"Han?" Luke's voice sounded panicked, neither of the two knew what was going to happen, all they knew is that there were a bunch of TIE fighters shooting them and the Falcon got hit twice within a couple of seconds, the Sith got up and dragged the Padawan with him heading to the bottom of a ladder "what is this?" Han didn't answer, he just looked at the Jedi as if to say 'stay here' and left, going up the ladder again, Luke was beyond confused at that point, what was going on? And why weren't they escaping from those fighters? "Han!" He called again. He still got no answer. He waited for a few seconds and Han's voice echoed from above.
"Shoot those fighters! But not the shuttle" he demanded, Luke nodded eve though Han couldn't really see him. The Jedi began shooting the TIEs and making them blow up, a small smile forming on his face thinking that they had made it after shooting the last one, but there was a bigger problem now. The shuttle. Who did it belong to? And why did Han specifically say 'not the shuttle'? Did he know who was in there? Did he think they'd both get in trouble or be in danger if he did? "We should go back"
Luke frowned "what? Go back to the Death Star? We're going to get killed!" The young Jedi argued, "I am not going back there now, it's a suicidal mission!" He said walking to Han "you're supposed to be my prisoner, people don't go back to where they captured their prisoner and leave them there to be free again... do they?" The Sith sighed, how was he supposed to tell him the truth? "We should be getting as far as possible from there"
"You're worried about it being a suicidal mission? Our relationship is the one thing that's really a suicidal mission, baby" Han said, walking closer to Luke until they were inches apart, and said lowly "and I am not so sure I'm your prisoner" the Padawan bit his lip, why was he like this? The Jedi kissed him passionately and the Sith smirked "it's easy to get to you, huh?" He asked teasingly, Luke pouted cutely "don't do this babe, we have to go and we can't if you're being a cute little munchkin" The youngest smiled sheepishly and looked up at Han "come on, let's go, let's see if we can get this piece of junk to work" the Sith said, both of them heading to the cockpit.
Once they got to the space station, they left the ship and headed to where the shuttle they had seen earlier was "Luke, stay here" the boy nodded and watched as Han walked to the shuttle, a few troopers Luke wasn't familiar with came out of the shuttle, followed by a man, he wore a white imperial suit and a cape, he seemed important. He walked to Han and smiled, but the Jedi was too far to hear what they were talking about.
Han walked to the Director's shuttle as the man walked out "how was Eadu, director Krennic?" He asked, he knew it had been fucked up, only three of his troopers came back and he left with eight, but he just loved annoying the only one in the Empire he could stand -obviously no one knew Krennic was the only one or Han would've been dead for years now-.
Director Krennic glared at him "oh, shut up, Solo" he said before walking past him, Han followed him, wanting to annoy him even more "Galen Erso is dead and so is everyone else who worked at that facility" Luke heard that and frowned, Galen Erso, wasn't that the best scientist in Coruscant? How could he be dead? He looked forward and saw master Windu fall dead. The Padawan was in shock, he didn't think something like this would actually happen, and he hoped he wouldn't have to see another important person in his life dying again, as much as he wanted to believe it was the Force's will, he couldn't understand why only the Jedi were dying.
Krennic left and Han walked to Luke, who was looking at Windu's dead body in shock "hey, you alright, kid?" He asked softly, Luke didn't respond, he didn't move, but hatred crossed his features "Luke, listen to me, everything will be alright" still no reaction, the Sith took his hand and took him behind the Falcon, where no one was around and kissed him, but that didn't seem to work either. Then, something came to his mind, something that would most likely work, but he was putting his life at risk, he didn't care though, he just wanted his Luke back.
"Han!" Vader's voice was heard and the Sith turned, he had to go there, but he wasn't going to leave Luke alone, not now.
The Padawan went to them, ready to kill Vader and the Emperor, but he suddenly couldn't move "where do you think you're going, kid?" Han said sarcastically, his eyes meeting Obi-Wan's letting him know what was happening with just one look, the master frowned, he was supposed to protect Luke from this just like he'd been supposed to protect Anakin and Ben... "I wouldn't di that if I were you, young Skywalker" he let go of the boy and he, somehow, managed to stay conscious. igniting his lightsaber, Han walked to the boy, knowing what Palpatine would try to do next.
He deflected the lightning with his saber before it could hit the Padawan, Palpatine, Yoda and Vader -behind the mask- looked at him shocked "what are you doing?" The Emperor questioned angrily, Han had to think of something before it was too late, it seemed they were suspicious in some kind of way. He glanced at the youngest Jedi and at master Kenobi before turning back to the Sith lords.
"I was the one who was supposed to kill Anakin, if someone kills Luke, it's going to be me" he said more challengingly than intended, Luke frowned, he was still willing to kill Vader and Palpatine if Han let him go and he couldn't allow that to happen, "you two focus on the masters, I'll take care of him" he wasn't lying, it wasn't his fault that they didn't understand what he meant.
The former chancellor nodded and Han turned to the Padawan, who had so much hate in him Han and Obi-Wan were afraid he would actually turn to the dark side, the youngest Sith grabbed Luke's wrist and dragged him to the control room (a/n by that i mean the room where Krennic and Tarkin interact the second time in R1) "What are you doing here?" Governor Tarkin asked, Krennic was also there so they'd probably been arguing again before Han and Luke got there, the Sith looked at Krennic and rolled his eyes, the imperial director nodded "Solo, you're beginning to behave like Director Krennic, that won't get you anywhere in life"
Han looked at him in disbelief, tightening his grip on Luke's wrist "yeah, I'm sorry but what makes you think you can talk to me?" Luke didn't understand anything anymore, but he had stopped caring when hate took over him, he just wanted to go back and kill Vader and Palpatine "either way, I would like to be left alone for a few minutes"
All the officers left, followed by Tarkin and Krennic, leaving Han and Luke alone "Luke... look at me" the boy didn't listen, he just tried to free himself from Han's grip "Luke" he said sternly, but he still didn't listen, the Sith was beginning to worry that he may had already lost him, but he wasn't giving up. Not this time. "kid, look at me" the boy looked down "hey, everything will be fine, okay? Trust me, we'll make it out of this, I promise when this war ends, we'll go somewhere safe, anywhere you want us to go"
The Jedi looked up at him sadly "all I want is this whole thing to be over, I don't want anyone else to die, I've had enough" Han frowned, he knew Luke was tired of this and he wished everything was easier, he wished he could bring an end to this war, and most of all, he wished that he and Luke could be happy when this war was over.
