Finally, this was the great Percy Jackson everyone talked about. Well, having only heard Artemis talk about him didn’t count as everyone, but if he earned the respect of the goddess than he must be great.

He led us onto the hill, where the dragon snorted and eyed us but made no aggression towards us. ‘This is Peleus, the protector Thalia’s Tree.’

‘Wait, the same Thalia that we met with the hunters yesterday?’ Desmond asked shrewdly.

Percy nodded. ‘Yup, she’s my cousin and one of my best friends. Come on, we don’t have much time to waste, its nearly time for dinner too.’

‘How long?’ I asked, and got looks from everyone. ‘Hey, I’m so hungry now.’

Percy chuckled. ‘Look, there’s Annabeth and Chiron.’

We started down the hill, and I realised that we all had shed burdens as soon as we stepped into camp. It was like all our worries had disappeared when we reached the place we were told we would be safe at.

There were two people waiting for us down at the 4 storey house, or mansion; Annabeth, who I could tell was Percy’s girlfriend, and another guy who looked like a middle aged professor, sitting in a wheelchair.

‘Hey Chiron,’ Percy greeted the man. ‘We found these campers fighting monsters down below. They’re new.’

Annabeth rolled her eyes. ‘Stating the obvious again Seaweed Brain?’

I could see Percy smirking. ‘Everything’s obvious to you isn’t it, Wise Girl?’

‘Children,’ Chiron muttered, holding a hand held to his forehead, his features contorted into pain. ‘I’m sorry, but I need to get back inside and lie down for a little. Annabeth, Percy, if you could show them around…’

They nodded, and the man moved away, back inside the house. ‘Well, I guess that means we’re showing you guys about,’ Annabeth smiled. She had blonde hair that was long and curly, and her stormy grey eyes held an intense stare that made me shiver, even though she was being friendly. ‘Did you get their names?’

Percy stood there dumbfounded. ‘What?’

She sighed. ‘I'm sure Percy has already told you his name, and said that I’m Annabeth. I’m also assuming that you know something about who you are, and that you’re a demigod.’

We all nodded and we introduced ourselves. Annabeth nodded and smiled at each one of us, while Percy shook each of our hands. ‘Why haven’t they been claimed yet?’ he asked.

‘Claimed?’ We all wanted to know, but Josh spoke it all for us before anyone else.

Annabeth nodded, and we started walking away from the house, towards what looked like a formation of houses. Or cabins, I thought, mentally hitting myself, because usually camps had cabins.

‘Claiming is when your parent sends a sign that lets you, and others, that you are their child. It’s funny, though, that you are here so late…’ she trailed off.

‘Late?’ Desmond asked.

‘Yeah, the agreement was that the gods would claim their children when they were 13, but I take it you’re about two years older than that?’ Percy put in, looking a little uncomfortable.

Suddenly light seemed to appear from above, and I looked about and gasped. Above Calvin’s, Joel’s, Josh’s and Mitch’s heads were glowing holographic images, Josh’s of a stick with things around it, Mitch’s having a broken circle that looked a lot like Pacman, and the other two having a sort of instrument.
