Disclaimer: I do not own PJO. I do not own them, Rick does, and he’s a wonderful author and all, but I still reckon that there are some fanfictions he should read, like Immortal Seas by SaayaThunder (I think that’s his name) and that Rick should know about the amazing couples that are Thalico and Tratie

A bad chapter for some of the demigods, but this will set the plot up, I hope. Also the first chapter in a while that has several POVs in one chapter.

Nick’s POV

The last few hours had been a blur. We had been taken to the hospital that the Romans had, been instantly healed by eating and drinking Ambrosia and Nectar and having the head doctor take a look at us, and then we said goodbye and left Camp Jupiter and New Rome with Percy and Annabeth.

This time though, things we certainly different. For one, we had Annabeth, who was the best navigator, instead of Will, who would have led us back to New Rome. Or worse.

I still couldn’t believe what he had said back in the arena. Was he telling the truth? Did Lucy really like me that way, did she like me that much? Or was it just a lie he told, or a lie he had been told that he thought he was telling the truth, or… just stop thinking brain.

Desmond looked at me worriedly. ‘Are you alright?’

I grinned. ‘Never better. What was with you and that girl?’ I said to change the topic. Before we had left Desmond had been pulled aside by Fiona, who had been with him for a few minutes before he joined us, dizzy and looking dazed.

He blushed. ‘She told me to IM her as soon as we got back to Camp, and she then kissed me.’

Silence. And then… ‘Desmond, getting laid with a Roman chick, and the daughter of Mars,’ Will whistled, and Percy and I laughed while Desmond reddened even more while Annabeth admonished her “little brother”.

‘Shut up,’ Desmond muttered to Will, but I could see that there was also some pain and jealousy in Will’s eyes. I wondered how he felt, being scarred from love and being broken by it, and then seeing your cousin bask in it. Well, exaggeration, but the point being… well, I didn’t know what the point was.

‘When can we eat?’ Will asked. ‘I want a cheeseburger.’

Annabeth sighed. ‘Will, you just HAD one!’

He sniffed. ‘It was a yummy one too. And I’m starving. Please Annabeth. Please?’

‘No,’ she replied firmly while the rest of us held our laughter in. It was a hard thing to do, but I managed to do so, thankfully.

Percy looked at Annabeth. ‘Please?’ he begged. ‘Please Annabeth?’

She took a deep breath to say no, and I expected her to do so, but all she did was look into his puppy eyes and she sighed. ‘Alright,’ she said, defeated, and Percy brightened and kissed her. ‘We’ll get cheeseburgers when we stop later tonight.’

‘Which is when?’ Will asked.

She smiled evilly. ‘Another two hours or so.’

And with that she and Percy moved forward, and Will muttered under his breath colourfully, which some of them I never even knew Will would know, and some of them I didn’t know even existed here.

Of course, travelling by ourselves would have attracted many monsters, as we did before, but add Percy and Annabeth meant that there was one every few hundred metres that wanted to take a shot at us or teamed up with others.

So Will was right when he said we were going to basically train on the way back. I ducked under a Cyclopes arm and sent my sword into his chest. He turned to dust as I turned and parried another sword stroke from another monster and sent Tempest through it, and monster essence burst all over me.
