"Morning"

As usually Tuli's day started with the same sentence. Though Chaya had already woke her up some minutes ago, but her day seemed like just started.

Suvro knocked the door with greetings. Unlike other days he found her getting out of the washroom. She stopped on her way looking at him like a deer caught in a headlight.

"The breakfast is ready." He asked blinking from the behind of his spectacle as he witnessed her eyebrows forming a knot.

She frowned as she didn't find any effect of her last night's speech on his face. Damn you typically stubborn Suvro RoyChoudhary!

He stayed unaffected from the caution alert of Tuli's frown. His jaw clenched tightly making a stubborn determination. His tolerance was inching closer to the edge but that always had some what a different affect on Suvro from the rest of the mankind. The more the challenge gets tougher, the scale of his stubbornness climbs higher.

"Is your joining date today or next week in the office?" He tried to initiate a conversation like everyday. And like everyday Tulika ignored him studiously and walked out to the balcony straightaway. Suvro sighed. But then he walked behind her till the doorway to the balcony to give the information he was meaning to.

"You have a doctor's appointment today. I will pick you up at four today..." he said and then recited what he was about to say next, time and again in his mind. "Be ready then" this line came out as a mumble as he was not sure if it sounded like a command or request or just a statement. And hell he didn't want it to be the first one that could make her furious. He mumbled and quickly came out of the room.

That morning after getting up she wanted to get out of the room, mostly because she wanted to watch how much her last night's words had affected on him.

But seeing him unaffected increased her irritation.

Opening his cabin Suvro's stomach flipped seeing the person who was sitting on the chair opposite of his office desk facing his back at him.

'Fuck man!' Cursing inside his mind, he strolled inside his office cabine clearing his voice towards his office chair.

The man whirled his revolving chair towards Suvro with a bright smile on face.

"Good morning!"

"Good morning Ratul." Suvro nodded settling on his chair. "When did you get back?" He refused to look at him.

"Last night!" Ratul mouthed chewing some Gum with cocky smile plastered on his face. His eyes were fixed on Suvro's face. "And guess what I hear just after landing here, that my school friend, my most close... my best friend..."

"I am not your best friend!" Suvro mumbled, which Ratul didn't even gave a ear to.

"My best friend, my colleague, got married and didn't even inform me!!!" He kept saying. "Three, only for three months I was out of country, and you didn't even inform me? Why Suvro why? I mean did you fear that your wife might have wanted to run away with me after seeing me?"

Suvro's eyes glared over his spectacle at Ratul as the reply.

"You hurt me man!" Ratul made such a sad face which had the ability to melt even stone. But all Suvro did, just shook his head and looked away.

Three years back when Suvro got the job in this firm Ratul was selected too, much to Suvro's reluctance. And he was stuck with him. Ratul was all of a sudden the best friend of him refusing to remember all the past.

"Whom did you marry?" He asked leaning on the shoulder of the chair. When after some five minutes of sad face treatment and try to prove himself a victim Suvro refused to say any apology Ratul huffed in defeat and proceeded with what was more important, his curiosities. "I mean who's this brilliant girl, who did what we all are trying to do since years. Cause last time I checked you were drowning in so much love with that love of your life one. Tulika."

Suvro inched up his eyelids to glare at Ratul, who didn't look much affected and danced his eyebrows questioning-ly before picking up the intercom asked to send two cups of coffee inside.

"Whom did you?" He asked again putting the receiver down.

"Don't you need to get back to work?" Suvro snapped looking irritated.

"Exactly, so tell me who is this mystery girl quickly."

Suvro shrugged off his shoulder, uncomfortably. "No one. Its none of your business anyway..." he started stammering and was about to look away when Ratul grabbed his hand quickly. Suvro looked up at him with a jolt and looked away quickly.

Ratul's eyes were burning on his face, "you didn't!" He hissed with a low growl.

"This is none of your business!" Suvro growled back.

"Fuck man!" Ratul slammed away his hand with a flinch and got up from the chair. "What the fuck have you done! Do you have any fucking idea!!!" He started pacing inside the cabin running his fingers through his neatly gelled and combed hair.

"I love her Ratul!"

"The girl is beyond repair; you moron!!!" He slapped the desk in front of Suvro with the shriek. Suvro's nostrils were already flaring. Be looked up at Ratul with tightened jaw as his fist formed a grip. "You are a suicide mission my friend. Do you even understand that?" Ratul growled again.

"You are not my friend. Neither I am yours, and do not need to hear these from You!" Suvro retorted standing up with a ragging jolt.

"And what do your 'friends' think about it? They are supporting this nonsense?" Taking a glance of Survo's face Ratul asked in a calm voice and a sad smirk posed upon his lips as the silence of Suvro's reply answered him everything.

Suvro's eyes lowered but his fist tightened more. Now this pathetic asshole got the guts to smirk upon him!

The coffee bearer entered the room with a knock on the door breaking the silence. "Sir coffee."

Ratul picked up a cup of coffee from the tray and sighed, "You know what's sad? That you never understood the true intention of a person and I think you like being a dog. You like to be treated like one." With that he stormed off the room leaving Suvro fuming into red, behind.

***

"Why aren't you ready yet?" His eyebrows jumped up with a questioning look, looking at Tuli still sitting pyjamas on the rocking chairs.

She didn't reply.

Ratul's words were still buzzing in his ear and this disregard and indifference of his wife started making a flame rising onto his old burns...
