After long hours of conversation on the beach, we decided to go to an ice cream parlor. By the time we got there it was jam packed and hard to find a seat for all of us. The place was retro style, made to look like the fifties. There were vintage figurines and posters hung up on the walls which gave off feelings of nostalgia. Brooke and Brittney wandered off to the back of the parlor to a booth with Ashton and Cody. Meanwhile Blaine walked towards a nearby booth with a guy I've never seen before. Blaine has dark, medium length brown hair with light green eyes and arabesque skin. The other guy he was with, however, was pale with dark eyes and black hair which was styled as a Mohawk. He looked as if he didn't want to be here, and was looking awkwardly to Blaine as they held a conversation. I was sitting with Roxy, whom I caught staring at the direction of Blaine's friend. I leaned over to Roxy, "Hey, should I ask if they want to sit with-" but before I could finish my sentence, I heard Angel trying to get my attention from the other side of the parlor. As I was partly ignoring her, she kept on making eye contact with me, leaning over saying something. "Hey, Sal why don't you guys come over and sit with us?" she asked smiling like this was some type of joke. "Sorry but I'm fine where I am" I replied back giving her a fake sympathetic look that a bitch like me constantly gives in these types of situations. "Oh ok, there wasn't room here anyway" was what she said with slight disappointment in her voice. I just rolled my eyes at how pathetic her answer was. The thing is, Angel has been our friend since middle school, but it's different now and she doesn't understand how people change. Angel is nothing like Brittney, Brooke, and the rest of us. She is the type of girl who would choose to stay at her house instead of going to a party. While we have become much more mature than we used to be, Angel still has a childlike innocence to her. After seeing her turn away and strike up a quiet conversation with Jason, I looked over to Blaine and his friend. I intentionally locked eyes with the dark haired mysterious guy and said,"Blaine, you and your friend should come sit with Roxy and I". Blaine smirked, looked over at his friend and looked back at us,"How could we possibly let two hot girls sit all by themselves?" Before we knew it, they both got up and sat next to Roxy and I. Blaine sat next to me, while his mysterious friend sat next to Roxy. There was an awkward silence between us all which lasted for about a minute, until I looked over at Blaine's friend and said,"I don't think we've met, I'm Salina and she's Roxy". He seemed to quietly look us over before plainly saying,"I'm Derek". Before it got awkward real fast, I started to engage in conversation. Blaine started first, by asking us where we attend school and what our plans look like for the rest of summer that we have left. "We go to Hollywood Hills High"- we were basically just going to hang at the beach the majority of the time, but we wouldn't mind if you would join us to get to know each other better" Roxy, who cut me off, said smiling. She shifted her eyes over to Derek, and they locked eyes for a moment. "So, how long have you been on probation?" I asked and Roxy gave me look, but dismissed it. "For about a year" Derek responded blandly, as if he got asked the same question multiple times. I nodded, "Trust me, I've been fucking with the law many times". Blaine looked at me, as if he didn't believe someone like me could possibly do such a thing. Derek, however had a slight intrigued smile, almost as if I was getting his attention. It is true, my life is complicated and I have been convicted of many times for being an incoming freshman. I've been caught committing crimes from drug and alcohol use to petty theft and minor vandalism. After telling a story about my offenses, Derek seemed to see me differently. "You don't seem like the type of girl to get into so much trouble", Derek confessed with a half smile and a questioning look on his face. "Well, what type of girl do I seem like?", I questioned with a little smirk as I crossed my arms. "Well, you do give off the vibes of an entitled rich girl", he answered as he scanned my whole look: neatly styled hair, bold makeup, big hoops, and a skimpy outfit which revealed more skin than it covered. "Not everything or everyone is as they seem", I responded with a sly smile. Derek subtly rolled his eyes before looking over at Roxy,"I don't know, Roxy seems like the kind of girl to have fun no matter what rules she has to break". Upon hearing her name, Roxy, who was admiring the posters and other decor on the wall, turned her attention to Derek. "You're not wrong", Roxy replied with her piercing eyes glimmering,"One of the best feelings in life is the thrill you have when committing a crime. Especially when you're close to being caught but aren't". Although he tried to hide it, Derek's face wore a smile. "Wow, you girls are badass", Blaine said as his placed one arm over my shoulder. I simply agreed with Blaine and gave him a smile. From the way he looked at me and how he acted around me, I could tell he liked me. Although I had no interest in him, I decided to indulge in his little fantasy. The poor guy probably hasn't hooked up with a slutty, slightly fucked up bitch like me, and I take notice of those sorts of things. I was in the middle of listening to Blaine tell a story about football practice when a waiter finally approached us. "I apologize for the wait, we're extra busy today", he said as he pulled out a notepad and pen,"What can I get you?"
