Ch. 11 : It's Okay

Yoongi stared off into the distance, ignoring the movie playing in front of him. Totally clueless about Irene kept stealing glances at him, wondering why he's so off.

"Wanna talk about it now?", Irene adjusted herself on Yoongi's chest pulling him closer.

"Whatever it is, don't let this get to you, okay?", Yoongi rubbed the crown of her head.

Irene is a bit anxious, but her curiousity is above evrything. "Okay."

"They knew about us.", Yoongi muttered slowly. "And they told me to be careful about it."

"Why do you think that would hurt me?", Irene looked at him deeply.

"Because we won't know what they might do about this.", Yoongi kissed her temple.

Irene looked away as soon as she realized she's in SM. They might either use Yoongi heat up the rumour and promote Red Velvet out of a scandal. Or worse they would set her up with someone from the company to make them believe that Yoongi was a joke, and boom, another scandal.

"It was me that should be worried about you getting hurt.", Irene nuzzled her face on Yoongi's chest. Making him smile.

"But it's okay as long as we're careful. We can think of a way, you know, like doing collaboration or you can get involved with my projects with Big Hit.", Yoongi tried to keep it positive.

"It's not a bad idea.", Irene pulled his face and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

They spent the entire day lying down. They sleep for almost 12 hours. Irene woke up to the sound of her bedtime routine at 8 PM.

"Fuck.", she quickly ran to the laundry room and it only took one hour for her to finish ironing since the members weren't there and there were not much in the basket.

She then walks to the kitchen thinking of a quick dinner for her and Yoongi. He's still fast asleep.

Irene is still concerned over the fact that Big Hit had warned him over his personal relationship. As far as she know, Big Hit is a very nice company who puts their artists on top of everything. She had never heard of Yoongi seriously complaining about their management.

But on the other side, SM is a really cruel agency. It's even more cruel ever since Lee Soo Man stepped down from his throne. She wouldn't ask why so many artists left the company at year 2014, even she was considering leaving the company because they made Red Velvet debut in a hurry, leaving Yeri behind.

"Baechu...", Yoongi's raspy voice calls from her bedroom.

"In the kitchen.", Irene continues chopping the ingredients.

Yoongi waddled over while rubbing his eyes. His hair is a mess, his eyes are puffy, his cheeks are bloated. But he looked cute. "You're cooking dinner?"

"You're not on a diet, are you?", Irene raised her brow at him.

"I'm not that hungry. But I will eat just in case I might get hungry later.", Yoongi sat down on the dinner table.

"I'm not cooking much. I'm not that hungry either. I'm making noodle soup, good?"

"Good. I'll take a quick shower.", Yoongi hurries back to her bedroom grabbing his toiletries.

"Make it real quick."

"So, I'm currently working on a song...", Yoongi finished his bowl of noodles. Putting his chopsticks down.

"Same here.", Irene joked.

"I mean, I'm planning to give you some lines in it. It's a part of my mixtape.", Yoongi continued.

"Of course I would accept it.", Irene replied excitedly.

"But asking for SM's agreement is harder than finishing the song itself.", Yoongi slumped on his seat. Pinching the bridge of his nose in concern. "I can't think of a way for them to not make a use of us."

"That's my biggest concern too.", Irene finished her meal. Stacking the dirty dishes together. "They might be less cruel because I'm their artist. But... BTS is now on their peak, SM is so triggered because you guys are getting too close behind EXO.", Irene stated.

Yoongi quietly nodded. Big Hit has warned them about this too.

"Media play is a piece of cake for them. Although I'm their artist and I'm telling them everything, what they tell to the reporters are totally different. Remember Taeyeon unnie and Baekhyun?", Irene asked while washing the dishes.

Yoongi walked over to help her. "What happened with them?"

"You see, in 2014, SNSD's popularity was far behind EXO. Especially since Jessica left. People didn't car about the group anymore. They only want to know why Jessica left."

"Baekhyun had been dating Taeyeon for a while before the news broke out. They were a nice pair. They didn't make a lot of fuss or bragging too much about their relationship. They kept everything undercover.", Irene looked over to Yoongi. "Unnie only told me about this so I could be careful."

Yoongi diverted his eyes. From her. Feeling bad. "No. Not from you. But from them. SM. Unnie told me not to tell any of my personal business to them. They will dig it up."

Yeah. Yoongi is still feeling bad. For her.

"So this is why I'm not sure if I can talk about our collaboration to them. They have been trying to set me up with some guys. I felt bad because they had to drag other people at this. I feel bad for Suho sunbaenim. We're not that close, but they keep trying to make him look like he's so whipped for me."

Yoongi smiled bitterly at her.

"Sehun too. He's a popular member, I'm kinda scared of him. But they even put us in a pre-wedding photoshoot on bed and stuff.", Irene continues. "This is less scary because both parties are under their control. They will be considerate enough to ask the media to only write congratulation news."

They finished washing the dishes.

"The only concern is how the fan is going to react.", Irene looked at him in the eyes. "But you know, the fans will react exactly the same as the news suggest them to."

"Wendy is having a project with Eric Nam, right? Joy is currently working in a project too. Yeri is friends with your rival girlgroup members. Can we ask them for advice?", Yoongi looked at her deeply.

"I will. Let's not take this too deep. I think we're just scared.", Irene smiled widely for him.

"Yeah. And it's not like my mixtape is dropping tomorrow.", Yoongi ruffled her hair.
