Light in the Dark

*Emery's POV*

I woke up. But I was in complete dark again, but something was different. There was a light. It was huge or too bright, but it was something. I tried to get up to go to it, but my body was weak, my brain aching from the effort, so I crawled.

I step at a time I crawled. Trying to go as fast as I could before she noticed. I didn't know where she was, which scared me.

"Lastly, some gownsa?" I heard a voice say. It was fuzzy, and distant, but it was a voice. A few more steps.

"Gownsa?" Another voice said, still foggy, but not as distant. I knew the voice was Roman's right away. At the sound of his voice, I crawled faster.

"The green stuff, it goes in as the last ingrediant in every spell." Teri said, the voices getting less foggy and louder.

Eventually I was so close. Through the light I could see shapes. I tried to figure out who they were, but it's too blurry and disfigured to figure out what was happening.

"You know magic?" I heard Roman ask, his voice as clear as day. I tried to go one more step..to get through. To get to him...to my friends...my family...but I couldn't. My energy gone like a phone thats battery died.

I needed to recharge...a quick nap...

"Roman..." I said as I touched the light, but I was so exhausted....

*Roman's POV*

"Roman..." Emery said and I looked over, and it was her, I could tell, I could see it in her eyes. "Roman..." she said reaching out to me. Then suddenly it was down, back at her side. "Sorry, I thought I saw something...nevermind..."

She was acting weird and I shrugged it off. It probably was Emery, but I couldn't do anything about it at this moment.

"That's it??" I asked, looking at Teri.

"Yes, now, can I do the spell?" I looked at her, nervous. Could I trust her? "I promise, I want to help, okay, I do care for you guys."

"Thank you Teri, go ahead." She started speaking Sondiv. I let her be and hoped that she was doing the right thing.

*Emery POV*

I felt a sudden pain, but I couldn't wake up....I couldn't move...

*Roman's POV*

"Ahhh!!!" I heard and saw Emery screaming in pain. I wanted to run to her so bad, but Teri told me not to.

*Emery's POV*

I screamed, but no sound came out. I wanted to end...

It was like someone was trying to cut out my kidney.

The worst pain that felt like it would never end.

*Roman's POV*

She fell to the floor, hugging herself and screaming.

"Teri!!" I screamed.

"Relax, it's supposed to happen. I'm disconnecting their souls and kicking her out."

"What about Emery??"

"I don't know..." I looked over at her, crawled up in a ball, the screaming echoing in my head. I hated this so much...it hurt...even if it wasn't really her...All I could think about was the real Emery.

*Emery's POV*

I felt weak. I knew it was killing me, whatever was happening. I couldn't hold on much longer.

I screamed out his name, this time sound actually coming out. "HELP!!"

*Roman's POV*

I wanted to help her so bad...so bad....

*Emery's POV*

"Roman..." was all I said before I passed out...

*Roman's POV*

I watched her fall limp. Teri stopped chanting and looked to me, "It's done."

I ran over to her, yelling her name. I had no idea how all this screaming wasn't drawing attention.

"What did you do!!"

"I did what you asked, I disconnected her from Emery's body, but that kind of spell can be dangerous to undo. It can be damaging."

"Why didn't you tell us that?!"

"I knew you would be angry."

"You're right!" I said and went back to Emery. "She's not breathing...!"

"Here," Teri said and gave me some sort of herbal liquid. "Just feed it to her." I lifted her head up and poured it down her throat and forced her to swallow.

*Emery's POV*

I heard people screaming my name, telling me to wake up, but I was at peace. The pain had stopped and it felt nice to sleep, not having to do something.

"Emery, please wake up... Don't leave me... I need you." His voice sounded so desperate. "I love you, please come back."

At that, I knew I had to. We are nothing without each other. It may be peaceful here, but it didn't have him

I forced myself to open my eyes. As soon as I did I breathed in a gulp of air I didn't know I needed so badly.

I looked up and there was Roman... I sat up and kissed him, ignoring everyone else.

"I love you too."
