Everything hurt. Her lungs begged for unattainable air. Her muscles ached from the constant wriggling in the water, trying to no avail, to get to the surface. Her eyes and throat burned the from sea water that surrounded her.

Luna always imagined death to be calm. She imagined herself to be more at ease, instead of desperately trying to get air. Luna wanted to die, but she didn't want to die in pain. It was only when her brain began to shut down, when her senses dulled and her muscles relaxed did she see it. She saw fire in the ocean. She saw flames, unharmed by the water move towards her. It was then that Luna closed her eye and let the fire take her.

Luna knew fire was supposed to burn, but she had never felt a burning like the one she was currently experiencing. She had never felt a pain that was so mind numbing excruciating that she could think straight, she couldn't think at all, couldn't think of anything but the pain.

In that pain she felt herself growing stronger, felt the pain changing her, altering her.

A part of her knew what was happening, though she refused to believe it.

Luna wanted to die, not live forever. Though the fire seemed to have other plans for her, and Luna would play a big part in the fires plans.
