"Ow!"
"Move out of my way Tall Ass!" A kid said pushing me aside.
Let me get something straight with you. I am Jeremy, Jeremy Heere. Yes, it's pronounced exactly as you see it.
This is my life right now. Post-Squip, the school moved on. Did you expect anything different? There will always be high school bullies. That one particular bully that pushed me, is actually my friend. I walk down the hall and he passes by me to give me a huge grin. He smiles more now than when he had a Squip.
"I'm going to kick your assth at AoD tonight, you watth it!" Rich said lisping, (as turns out he sometimes has a lisp and sometimes he doesn't it depends on who he's around) He turned around and walked backwards, winked; then turned back around and dived into his classroom. He's been trying to beat me at Apocalypse of the Damned for about three weeks. He's still on level nine. However, to be fair, I did have some help from Michael in completing it.
"Hey Buddy!" Speaking of Michael, "How's it hangin' my bro? I heard the school buzz from Jenna that you blew Christine off. What's up with that? You feeling alright dude?" He says coming up to me and slinging a hand over my shoulder.
"Yah, I just feel like, after all that, I need some time to figure myself out. I don't need a relationship I just need some friends. Christine agreed and told me that she would be happy to be my friend." I say walking up to my locker.
"Well man, I think that's great!" He laughed, "I almost fell down the stairs today because I-" He started, but we were interrupted by the bell. We quickly said goodbye and want to our respective classrooms quickly. "See you on AoD tonight alright, I think tonight's the night Rich is going to win. Remember our bet?" Michael asked laughing.
"Yah," I laugh, me and Michael had a bet to see how long it would take for Rich to finish the level and call Jake to ask him out, which was a bet the three of us made a week into the level.
Even though the Squip is not in Rich anymore, to make him more chill, Jake still hangs with him. It's nice to know that once you are popular you make some friends that stay. Though it didn't really happen to me that way. Rich was popular a lot longer then I was though.
The rest of the day went on like a regular day, that's what I told my dad, anyway. It's not like I had any big news, and he always asked me how was school. I think he's trying to make up for the time were he was a shitty dad. I don't blame him, but some times he goes too far.
I'm still thankful for him though. He really is trying. He grounded me after the little Squip incident, so now I don't have any tv for six months. It really sucks. Thankfully I play games with Rich and Michael to help keep me level. That pun was Rich's so I hope it was good.
It was a Friday so I got to say up an extra hour after my grounding curfew. Which was great!
By the time I was ready to log off me and Rich had almost completed level nine, and Michael came a little late (he had to help his mom fix her car) to help us defeat the rest. I said goodnight to my friends with the promise that tomorrow night Rich would ask out Jake.
I had three texts when I checked my phone. It was Christine, she wanted to know if I'd be in next years play. Since the audience loved this years so much. We kept getting reviews that complimented how authentic the performance was. If only they knew.
I texted back that I'd think about it. Hey! Don't judge me, I almost Squipped the school because I was in a play. You'd be hesitant to join another one too if you did that.
I got ready for bed, I was all tucked in when; "Jeremy."
"I thought I turned you off." I groaned and looked around my room.
"I'm a super computer Jeremy, I can be reactivated, but don't be alarmed. I have been hacked and I come with a message." The Squib said calmly.
"You've been what!" I said sitting up in my bed. "How were you hacked! You're inside my head!" I exclaimed panicking.
"Relax Jeremy, nothing too bad can happen I assure you. Anything technological can be hacked. So far as you are concerned all my main functions have been powered off; save my dry humor and my voice. I told you I'm here to deliver a message not kill you." The Squip relayed.
"Who's the message from?" I said shaking my head and trying to come to terms with the next wave of strangeness I had got myself into.
"The sender wishes to stay anonymous." The Squib said echoing inside my head.
I sighed and caved in, "Fine, what's the message say?" I heard the Squip obnoxiously clear his throat.
"Hey Jeremy, I'm sorry to be doing this, but I could t think of another way how. I fell for you the moment I saw you today. Seeing you makes my every day, and I want you to know that someone is looking out for you.
Love, Red""That's it? Someone hacked you to give me a love letter?" I said yawning.
"Yes," I could hear it sigh, "terribly emotional..." the Squib said and I could hear it shut off.
I breathed out and looked at my nightstand. I sighed and relaxed. I wondered who this mysterious Red was. How could someone hack into my Squip? I sighed and rolled over in my bed.
I slept and had dreams of zombies and houses burning. Screams and Squips and brain washing. Rich was killed in the house and Jake was with him. Christine was a zombie, and Michael had been killed. I woke up feeling nauseous as my bedside alarm shrieked.
Time to start the day.
