2.6 – Questioning
“Harry, I know this sounds really creepy but I slept in your bed last night. You never told me it was so soft. No wonder you love the bed so much. I might sleep here more often now that you’ve left.” sighed Louis, “Please come back, Harold. I can’t help to think one thousand reasons on why you left. I’m the reason, right? Just please, at least text me. I want to know where you are. How you are. I really hope you’ll listen to my voicemails. See you soon.”
Louis woke up earlier than the usual that morning due to the early time he went to bed the night before. After calling Harry straight to voicemail and ten minutes of lying in Harry’s bed, wide awake and staring at the poster covered walls, his alarm went off. That made Louis got out of the bed reluctantly, to get ready for another day at the school.
“What are you doing there, Lightning?!” Louis said when he walked out of his bedroom, already clad in fresh new clothes to see the cat lazing on the kitchen counter.
Lightning only purred then climbed down from the kitchen counter where it had slept. Louis gave it an evil eye while the cat ignored him and entered the living room. Now Louis started to wonder why the hell he adopted a cat. Thank God the cat didn’t make a mess on the counter. At least it managed to obey Louis’ order for where it can do its business.
Louis took out a box of cereal that he had bought a few days ago after realizing he needed to stop eating out for breakfast since meeting up with Liam at the restaurant meant he would be late for work. Once he had put some cereal and milk in a bowl, he went to the sofa in the living room to watch the daily news telecast.
Before he could take a spoonful of his breakfast, the familiar ringtone of his phone sounded in his ears from his grey trousers’ pocket. He placed the bowl of cereal on the coffee table before accepting the call.
“Hey, LouBear.” Eleanor greeted him.
His lips formed into a smile, “El, hey. Good morning. Had a good night sleep?”
“I did. I was just wondering if we can do that dinner tonight. My plans got cancelled.”
Louis was glad that he could finally spend a night with his girlfriend. “Yeah, sure. Text me the details, yeah? Can’t wait to see you.”
“Alright. Have fun at work.”

“So did you search for clues in his bedroom?” His best friend, Zayn asked as he prepared a cup of tea for himself.
They were at their usual hang out place for lunch time. Louis had come to the room a little but late because he had done an extra training with the school’s football team. He was a little bit surprised to see Zayn had brought an electric kettle into the room.
Louis rolled his eyes as he chewed on an apple, “No, I don’t want to. Besides, I’ve once checked his wardrobe and there’s nothing in there. Pretty sure he didn’t leave anything behind.”
“You don’t know that for sure, Lou.” Zayn replied after taking a seat at the table in the center of the room.
“Anyway, I’ve a date night with Eleanor.” Louis grinned. “I’m really excited for it.”
“You’re still with her?” The jet black-haired liften one of his eyebrows, “I thought you’ve called it off.”
Louis’ eyebrows scrunched in questioned, “Why’d you think so? We’re still together, Zaynie.”
Zayn put both of his hands up as an act of innocence, “I apologized. It’s just that . . . you haven’t told me anything about her ever since I came back unlike the amount of things you’ve told me about Harry. So I just assume…”
“We’re happily together, Zayn.” stated Louis before taking another bite into the red apple and shooting the apple core into the dust bin.
“Doesn’t seemed like it.” The black-haired Bradford lad mumbled to himself as he sipped his hot tea.
Louis heard what Zayn had said but he decided not to comment on it.

The Doncaster lad paced around his living room as he waited for his girlfriend to arrive. Eleanor suggested they would meet up at his flat since they still hadn’t decided where they would have their dinner at. There were so many things circulating in Louis’ mind that made him felt restless when sitting down on the sofa. He thought he should at least occupy the time waiting for the brunette girl by doing something even though it was as stupid as walking around the living room because at least it’ll block out the worrying thoughts. He was sure Lightning might think he’s going crazy by the look on the cat’s face. It had only been two days since he had the cat but he’s already mastered in knowing his cat’s facial expressions. Or maybe that was just a sign he’s going mad.
See, Louis kept on thinking about his conversation with Zayn during lunch time. He can’t lie; there were some bits of truth in Zayn’s statement (Louis didn’t want to admit it’s really the truth.). He hadn’t talked about Eleanor to Zayn as much as he did when he talked about Harry. Does that make a clear difference on who’s getting his attention the most? He thought with a hand rubbing his temples.
A knock on the door made Louis’ movement stopped abruptly. He neared the door to welcome Eleanor with a kiss on the cheek. She looked pretty as the usual with her amazing sense of fashion but there was something that didn’t feel right.
“Hey, boo. Any ideas on where we should eat?” asked Eleanor before noticing the grey little fur ball on by the sofa. “Aw, you didn’t tell me you have a cat now!”
“Yeah, I’ve had her since yesterday.” He pointed to the direction of his bedroom before saying, “So, let me just grab a jacket then I’ll drive us to a restaurant down town.”
Eleanor stood up after petting Lightning with a straight face, “Louis, wait. I actually think we might have to talk about something.”
“About what?” A puzzled look plastered on Louis’ face. His palms were starting to sweat and the feeling of nervousness started to settle in.
“I just think this relationship wouldn’t work out for much longer.”

I’ll leave this chapter hanging because it’s already past my word limit for every chapter. Comment away on your thoughts. Please. I mean it. I hardly get more than five comments for a chapter.
