You see, subconsciously I knew I was dreaming. I just wasn’t willing to accept that little fact. All around me was a wide open field, full of grass and flowers. It was surrounded with beautiful trees, making it seem all that much more privet. I’ve always considered my dreamland privet.

I was all alone like usual. My long, white skirt was hitting the grass when I walked, but it didn’t get stained. The maroon of my shirt matched that of one of the flowers that was placed directly in the center of the field. I started walking towards it out of curiosity. There was something rustling in the trees behind me. I ignored it, thinking it was just the wind.

I knelt down next to the flower, gazing at its beauty and uniqueness. There were footsteps from behind me, big heavy ones. After getting on my feet, I whirled around, facing the person making all the ruckus.

“Wait,” I said aloud. “No one ever comes here.”

Well, that’s can’t be true, now can it,” the person, a guy about 6’2”, said smiling. He looked awfully familiar.

“Do I know you?” I asked, sitting down in the grass like this was a casual conversation. And I guess it was. For now.

“Hell yeah,” he grinned and sat down next to me. “I’d hope so otherwise you must be blind.”

“Oh yeah? Well, if you know me then how come I don’t know you then?” My hands were ripping out the grass that was tickling my legs. I looked up at the man. He was gorgeous, his short blonde hair, his golden eyes. He must have been my mystery man.

He laughed, grabbing my hand carefully. “Maybe I can jog your memory.” He kissed my hand, making me blush. He pulled his head back up, only inches from my face. He grinned again, only this time there was something different about it.

There were fangs there, that’s what was different. My eyes were shocked by what they saw. Never have vampires come into my dreams. Nor have other animals, or people for that matter.

“How did you get in here?” I asked, scooting back inch by inch, not wanting this damn idiot near me.

“You led me here,” His face got closer and closer to mine. I wasn’t going back fast enough. My legs got me up, and started running, running away from this evil place, the one that promised not to let anyone in.

I made it to the edge of the field. There, the grass just ended, leading me to a cliff. If you looked down, all you could see was black. I turned back around, facing him again.

“Damn, I thought you’d be rather…tasty, but watching you fall would be more fun.” He stepped closer and closer, making me want to step back, but if I did, I’d figure out what was at the bottom of that never ending hole. That was the last thing I needed to know.

I finally recognized him. It was the vampire that had attacked me in the woods. My eyes narrowed and I glared at him. “You stay the hell away from me you bastard!”

He laughed again, stepping the final step so he was in reach of pushing me. “Bye my sweet,” He hands came up and met my stomach. An ‘oof’ sound came out of me and before I knew it, I was falling, further and further away from that creep. I was both happy and scared.  I didn’t want to die, but I was finally away from him.

The air whooshed past me, making me wonder how long it’d take. I closed my eyes tight and just waited. Suddenly, everything stopped. All the noise, all the feelings. Just…Gone
