I looked out the window for the thousandth time. Then back at my extending belly. My brother will be here any minute. I know it was someone he knew that made me this way. As soon as I saw his truck I walked to the door. I opened it seeing him walk up to the door. "Hey sis." He said. As soon as he hugged me he jumped back. "What happened?" He asked eying my belly. "What do you think happened?" I asked him crossing my arms.
"Some guy knocked you up. Who? When? Where?" He started asking. "Try one of the guys you hang around." I said before going back inside. "When and where?" He asked. "Hm. Let me think. Five months ago, and in your camper!" I yelled the last part. I took a deep breath before grabbing my keys and getting in my truck.
"Cheyenne." "What?" I asked him. "Where are you going?" He asked. "Gee I don't know. I have a doctors appointment to see how the baby is doing." I said as another truck pulled up beside me. I backed out quickly. Then flung gravel as I peeled out. I grumbled as I pulled into town. Instead of the doctors office I went to Walmart.
I stood in the baby isles looking at the baby stuff. My phone rang. "Chey. Once your back you might wanna apologize to a few of my buddies for the bruises they sustained as you flung gravel." Ash said. "Oh but the one that got me pregnant can kiss my arse." I said as I picked up a diaper bag. Tomorrow I'm going to see what the gender is so I know what to buy for.
I should have gone last month but I was so busy I couldn't. After getting groceries I paid and took them out to my truck. As I pulled up to the gate I could see Ash and his whole group of buddies sitting on the porch shooting the bull. I scoffed as I backed in a few moving, scared that I was going to fling gravel once more.
I got out and started to take the sacks of food in. They all jumped to take them in. Huh first time I didn't have to ask. When I looked in the backseat there were no bags. I then went to the passenger side and opened the door. The bump wasn't that noticeable under my baggy shirt at the moment. "Here let me get those." That voice. I backed up letting him get the rest.
I closed the door after grabbing my wallet. This is not even cool. They were already putting the groceries up where they needed to go. Least I can say they know where they go. As I got to my room Ash stopped me. "So which one?" He asked. "How should I know his name? You don't tell me their names, and I only know your traveling buddies' names." I said before closing my bedroom door.
I lifted my shirt to look in the mirror. It. Wasn't that noticeable was it?

I'm screw. I knew that voice. I knew it from somewhere. I can't believe it's my buddy's sister. I could barely see the bump. When he asked which one had slept with his sister we all didn't know what he was talking about until he told us she was five months along. Might as well go to my grandmother's and help her out.

I got a shower and started supper. The door open and closed. I looked up seeing my best friend. "So did you finally schedule an appointment for junior?" He asked quietly. "Tomorrow." I said. "Huh. And is the father somewhere in the living room?" He asked. "Yup." I said. He took the water filled pot to the stove for me.
"James Mario!" I scolded. "No can do girl. You shouldn't be lifting heavy items such as pots and feed sacks." He said. "I'm about to kick you where you don't wanna be kicked." I said. "Then you should thank the baby daddy that knocked you up." He said before grabbing a Lone Star out of the fridge. "I should just freeze all those." I said. "Or leave them out in the sun for a week."
He stuck his tongue out at me. I flipped him off. James walked out as he walked in. He went straight to the fridge getting another round of beer for the guys. I leaned against the counter watching. Thank you James for making sure I always got it in the fridge. He then went back to the living room before coming back and getting a glass.
He put ice in the cup then tea. I watched as he closed the fridge and drank the tea. He finally spotted me. "How are you?" He asked. That's all he has to say?
