Chapter 12:

Paul's POV

The girls were all crying as the boys tried to comfort them, holding back their own tears. Niall was in the front seat next to me as I drove, and after the bang, it was all chaos.

Everyone in the back started screaming to turn around, but I was worried. My job was to protect the boys, and if there is still a psychopath in that house with a gun, it's gonna be pretty hard to complete my job. If anything, that guy looked like he knew just where to shoot, and if she was shot, she most likely wouldn't be alive by the time we got inside.

"PAUL!" Niall yelled, snapping me back into the world around me.

"GO BACK!" He yelled again, but I shook my head, yelling for everyone to quiet down.

"I'll go back, but no one, I repeat, no one is leaving this car besides me-" I started before they all cut me off.

Zayn's POV

Everyone was in a panic, and I decided now was a good time to step in.

"Let's make a deal.." I yelled over everyone, getting Paul's attention.

"You go inside alone, but if you don't come back out in 5 minutes we are all going inside. Do we have a deal?" I proposed, as everyone looked at Paul with pleading eyes.

"Fine..." He agreed as he turned the car around.

Paul stopped the car and jumped out, leaving us to our worries.

Thoughts went around consisting of, "We shouldn't have left her," "I can't believe we let this happen," "What if we never see her again?" and the most common, "What happened?"

But we are all put to silence as we see Paul running out of the cabin, banging on the car door seconds later.

"Guys, girls, everyone! Quick get out and come look! You won't believe it!" He panted as we all piled out of the car and ran towards the cabin.

Gianna's POV

We all ran inside and looked around, frightened and confused. You wouldn't believe what it was.

"There's no one here.."

~~~~~~~~
We just got back to the hotel after searching the perimeter of the cabin for hours. There was absolutely no one there. We don't know where they are or how they got away so fast, but we just hope Hailey is okay.
Hailey's POV
I kept my head high as I walked towards the cabin, leaving my friends, possibly forever.
I could not believe I was walking back into what I spent the past two years trying to get away from, without a fight. No. I am not going down without a fight. He cannot just take me back. I had two weeks without him, and I plan on having a lot more. I am not just going to give up.
When I walked into the cabin I heard the car doors shut, but I didn't look back. They had to leave. I couldn't put them in danger if my plan didn't work out.
Jake was in a different room, and the gun was on the small wooden table a mere foot away from me. Slowly reaching for it, I checked it out. It was a shotgun with one bullet left. It's now or never, I thought.
When Jake walked into the room I raised the gun, ready to pull the trigger. He suddenly realized what was happening and lunged towards me, pushing the gun out of range. I pushed back with all my strength and, without a second thought, pulled the trigger. He screamed out in pain, clutching his leg. Now was my time to run.
