Nova was awoken by the long awaited sunrise, a beautiful sight she was not able to behold for many mornings, nor had she seen the sun in three years.  The orange sun peaking over the horizon, and she lifted a gloved hand over her eyes to shield her view.

When she was finally able to interpret her surroundings, panic took over her as icicles flooded her veins.  Nova sat alone on the massive tree branch.  One terrifying thought crossed her minds as all of her fears began to return to her heart.

Abandonment.

Her golden eyes widened as she frantically searched for the people who had seemed so kind and trustable.

Then her gaze came in contact with fluorescent blue eyes below her, and her heart finally slowed to a suitable pace.  Nova clutched the pale-colored dress she wore.   She released a breath that she was unaware that she was holding.  She even nearly fell from the tree she had been resting in.

"What's wrong?" Link gave a worried smile as he climbed the thick bark and sat himself on the branch beside her.  Nova watched their boot-covered feet swing over the edge as their shadows danced on the grassy floor.

"Nothing." She mumbled.

"You looked like you were going to have a panic attack." He chuckled, though worry was obvious in his tone.

Nova refused to answer, just looking away from Link's alluring gaze because she knew that he would persuade her to explain her emotions.

"You can trust me, you know.  I'm sure Midna feels the same too." The blonde adventurer mentioned.  The girl felt his eyes shift from her and to the bluing sky.  She allowed her gaze to shift to the sky as well, with hues of pink and orange coloring the clouds.  She couldn't help but feel warmth when she watched the sky transform into shades of pale blue, mirrored in Link's eyes.

"It's not that easy." Nova spoke from her mind, surprising even herself with her own voice.

"I don't expect it to be, and I don't expect you to trust us with all of the important things immediately.  But you can start with the little stuff, like now." He chuckled again and he looked back at her, finally catching her golden gaze.  "Tell me what's wrong, silly."  Link lifted a gloved hand, the one that had the mysterious golden mark, and he reached for her brown head.  However, Nova leaned away, preventing him from ruffling her mahogany hair.

"I was just scared..." She trailed quietly before continuing, "That you two would leave me." She managed to mumble, averting her eyes again.

Link laughed and the girl's golden eyes snapped at him, cruelly glaring at him.

"It's not funny." She spat defensively.

"It's ridiculous." He managed to say between breaths.  "But I thought we made you feel better last night." The serious tone returned to his kind voice.

Nova pouted her lip, desperate not to give Link the benefit of the doubt.

"I don't know if Midna did, but I'm know I let you know that we're friends." His blue eyes emitted joy and kindness.

The brunette grunted, turning away defiantly.

Link took this opportunity to reach out his gloved hand again, ruffling her red-toned hair.  She reached up, batting away his hand, but resulted unsuccessfully.  He used his strong hand to pull the smaller girl backwards, wrapping a strong arm above her chest, and the other still placed on her head.  He let out friendly laughter, soon to be accompanied by a mischievous cackling as Midna emerged from his shadow.

"Hey!" Nova squealed, trying to pry Link's strong arms from her body.

"You can't get away from us that easily!" The boy joked, though his comment was honest.
