ADOPTIVE PARENTS ACCUSED OF BEATING SON FOR CONVERTING TO ISLAM
April 17, 2016 - Brooklyn family caught up in alleged child abuse and hate crime. The Parents, Jenny and Ralph Woodward, have beaten up their son, coincidentally the son had recently converted to Islam. The neighboring apartment immediately called 911 reporting that they, "Heard breaking of glass and screams from apartment 16." The neighbor, Kelly Singh, has stated that the two parents have never showed violent tendencies up until this incident. They took in the child when he was kicked out of a foster home back when he was 11 due to violent tendencies.
It has been reported that the son has been brought up an atheist, and his first glimpse of Islam was when his high school hired a Muslim male to teach English, and has been showing strange new tendencies since the start of the school year. Both Jenny and Ralph reported their concerns about the teacher to the school, to no prevail. Upon entering the crime scene, the 2-bedroom apartment had broken vases, a ripped Quran, and a fresh bloodstain on the wall. The two parents state that they did no wrong and it was the son that attacked first. They deny any of the allegations that state they would intentionally abuse a teenager for their choice of religion.
"He came up to our home, banging the door, he pushed Jenny on the wall and took a knife out of his backpack, I had to do something or else I might've died." Ralph had stated hours after the incident. The two parents were wounded with minor cuts on their arms and legs while the teenager had a long knife wound all the way from his elbow to his wrist.
The Woodwards have been outstanding members of society up until this point. Recently they have been spending time in soup kitchens and orphanages, and most neighbors question and doubt the accusation inflicted upon them.
The son, who will remain anonymous, was not able to speak on the matter willingly. Medics say that he has been stuck in a state of shock.
Shortly after the incident, the Male English Teacher, Mohammad Ansari, arrived at the site in order to take the boy in question to his residence to live temporarily. To avoid unwanted chaos, the Woodwards have willingly decided to give legal guardianship to Ansari until the two parties can make an acceptable living arrangement for the adopted son.
Neither of the parties had decided to press charges.
