Tough Love (Bruce Banner x reader)

The Avengers?

       You drove into the chaotic mess of a New York City. You gazed in amazement as Captain America, Black Widow,  Thor, Iron Man, and Hawkeye. Bruce limped off the bike and you were going to follow him but he stopped you, "You can't go out there", he said. "Why not?", you asked slightly angry. "You can get hurt, I ca-", he started but Ironman cut in as a large creature emerged from the portal, "Bruce ya might wanna get angry". Bruce gave you an apologetic smile and chuckled at Ironman, "I'm always angry ", he said as he clenched his fist and morphed into the Hulk. Captain America rushed you into an apartment building, and you sighed angrily and turned on the T. V. to watch the fight. That's when something crashed into the building, causing a gaping hole to appear on your wall. You jumped off the couch to see Bruce covered in dust and bruises. You ran over to him and shook him, " Bruce?!, wake up!". He jolted awake and looked at you, "A-Are you ok?", he asked as he stood up. "I'm fine, Bruce you're hurt really bad", you said pulling him back softly from the wall. "The oth-", he started but you interrupted, "I don't care about the other guy!", you half yelled, surprising Bruce, "I care about you! You're hurt! OK?! I've lost too many people in my life, I can't lose anyone else". You blushed hoping he didn' t realize that he was your celebrity crush.  Thankfully he didn't, (Not yet at least XD bwahaha) he smiled saying, "I promise I will come back", he said. You hugged him, he stiffened up once again but hugged back. He kissed your head and jumped out the window turning into the Hulk again.

   You didn't listen to Bruce and you went out this time. You tried to follow Hulk as he smashed aliens and also avoid not dying. He was an alien killing machine. You admired how the freak accident had made such a beautiful creature of science, and a humble scientist too. You were interrupted from your thoughts by the sudden screaming of Hulk and Captain America running at you. Iron Man was flying towards the portal, Loki was nowhere to be found, and you were very distracted. Suddenly, you're head felt like it was vibrating and you were now looking from the eyes of an alien heading right towards Hulk who was heading towards you. That's when you realized the alien was trying to eat you. You shook your head and screamed, "HULK WATCH OUT!". By the time he saw it, the beast had opened its mouth and eaten Hulk whole. Your heartbeat slowed down, it seemed as if the world went into slow motion. You looked around and felt an energy rise up in you. You screamed in anger and finally let go. Your normal (e,c) eyes became a glowing purple and your pupils became slits. Your hair had a slight tint of purple in it and you started to fly. You flew right into that alien and punched it. As soon as you punched it, it exploded. It. Literally. Exploded. You flew down to the wreckage in search of your mad scientist. You threw heavy pieces of the aliens carcass until you found him. You picked him up and held him close to you, "Bruce?", you asked. He didn't respond, it didn't even look like he was breathing. Your heartbeat sped up as you put your ear to his chest...

There was no heartbeat.

Tears started to pour down from your glowing purple eyes as you realized your hero was not alive. "No no no NO", you cried pulling him close to you. Captain America came up to you and felt Bruce's neck for a pulse. He called other avenger's over. Suddenly, you felt a spark in your hand. You looked at the purple sparks, an idea popped up," Move away from him", you said. They nodded and moved away. You let the tears fall as you mutter, "Please God let this work", you put your hands on his chest and it sent a shock. His body jolted but did not revive. You did this three times before Black Widow put a hand on your shoulder. You close your eyes and tightened your fist. You may have only met him for a day but you had feelings for him. He was your role model. He died because of you. He was trying to save you, and you weren't even paying attention. You didn't even realize the alien was heading towards you. You were a distraction. You put your hands on your face, covering your eyes and screamed, causing a massive surge of purple energy to release, knocking everyone on their feet.  That's when you heard it.
