Tough Love (Bruce Banner x reader)

Tough on the outside

" It takes a loser to know one, and you all should leave right NOW".

They all stopped laughing and turned to see a steamingly angry Bruce Banner. You smiled a bit, trying to keep the tears from falling. "O-Or what?", the leader said trying to sound intimidating but failing. He smiled taking off his glasses, you could see that his eyes were now flashing green and he was clenching his fist. You got up quickly, holding your stuff and blocking his view from the bullies, "I-It's ok Bruce". He looked at you and his eyes went back to normal. He picked you up bridal style and walked over to your motorcycle that you had to assume he fixed. Because the tires were new and there was no paint on your beautiful bike. "Fury said yes", he mumbled as he held your books for you. You smiled a bit and started the bike and drove away. Before you knew it you were home, as you took off the helmet and looked at your apartment you gasped and your smile dropped. Your windows were broken and you could see spray paint dripping from your windows. Your breathing sped up as you ran in and kicked the now broken door aside and gasped. Bruce ran in after you and held you close as you examined what had happened. Everything was ruined. There was no other way to explain it. If something wasn't smashed, it was shattered or ripped apart. You finally let go of the tears you were holding and sniffled. Bruce noticed immediately and engulfed you in a hug. "That's why they were laughing when I got to school", you whispered as he held you close. You heard him grunt, a sign that he was getting angry. "Why are they  after you?", he asked rubbing your head softly. "I-I didn't give them H. W and let them cheat off me, and now they're after me. I couldn't use my powers, they weren't working", you said shakily. "I'll check that out later but for now-", he started but his wrist watched beeped. He sighed and let go of you, "I have to go on a mission". 

   "Can I go with you?", you asked. "No, I think you've been through enough today", he said sitting you down. "Please Bruce I want to help", you persisted getting back up. "You said your powers weren't working, I can't risk you getting hurt ", he said. " I can protect myself I guess the powers just come back when I'm around certain people I care for", you said. "We can handle this without you", he said. Even though it wasn't meant to, that was very offensive. "You died last time", you said sadly. He looked at you not knowing how to respond, but he saw the care hidden in that statement. He went to you and hugged you tightly, "I promise I will come back", he said as he let go and walked out the door. You sighed-

(OK, I have to say something to the 12 ppl reading this. Your eyes turn red when your offended or being mischievous when you're using your powers. Your eyes are their regular superhero purple when ur sad, happy or concerned while using powers. When ur not using your powers, your eyes are normal colored, Anywho back to the story) (OH WAIT WAIT I'll show you the costume again, it's all the same but the color of your powers and eyes change and also you wear a purple eye mask)

and smiled deviously as your eyes glowed red. (not fully red more like Chara's eyes) You ran to your room and checked under your bed. Amazingly, the bullies didn't look under there. you lifted the bed up with ease and pulled out (costume in the second chapter) An idea sparked, 'what if he didn't know it was me, he can't be mad at me', you thought as you suited up. You put the Katana on your red silk belt, in case your powers failed again. You tried to see if it would work, and it did, but instead of the normal beautiful purple color, it was a red fiery one. And with that final reassurance, you jumped out of your broken window and flew out. For some strange reason, your powers were going and coming back. You were falling and flying, but you made it to what seemed to be where the battle was. You saw Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Black Widow reasoning with Loki. Ugh, this jerk again. You froze when you saw why the Avengers we're reasoning with him. In his left hand, he was loosely holding an older lady. As you looked closer, your heart dropped as you realized it was your mom. Loki laughed because he sensed your fear, and ... he let go. You jumped out of your hiding and pushed past the Avengers and jumped to grab her. She looked at you in fear, you quickly removed your mask as you flew after her. "Y, n", she whispered. Your eyes widened and you reached out to grab her hand but Loki jumped towards you and kicked you to the side.
