Chapter 6, The last dance

At school, Melanie found her self distracted. She tried to remember how could she controll her dreams. No use. The teatcher dismissed the class and everyone headed home. It was a rainy day. As Melanie got home, she just watched the rain from the window. She started to be desporate. Soon the night came. Thankfully it was the friday night, cause she couldn't sleep. She was still trying to remember. No use. Suddenly she just fell asleep. This time she was in a regional train or commuter train. She wasn't sure wish one was it. There was no seats in there, or anyone at all. It was quite dark outside.  She then noticed a board, wish said something on it.

Meanwhile in elsewhere, Nick was trying to look for Melanie. He usually knew where she was, but now he had no idea. He soon saw the train, and at that moment, he realized that she was in serious danger. He went after the train, and tried to look something with what he could catch it. At the same time in the train, Melanie read the board. "Don't look behind you" the text said. She desided to obey. Suddenly she felt sharp pain on her back. She yelped from pain, and fell on her knees, and then or her stomack.
-Well well, looks likes I've won, hm? She heard someone saying. She couldn't do anything else but lie there. Why wasn't she dead yet? She didn't know.

Meanwhile at elsewhere, Nick was reaching the train and now all he had to do was to hop in. As he got on the teain, he tried to get in, but the door was locked.
-Fuck! He swore by him self. He really wished he wasn't too late. He tried to crush the lock. It was no use. Suddenly he heard someone telling him to wake up. He soon did. It was his boss. He was furious.
-Wha...? Why the hell did you wake me up?! Nick asked yelling.
-You know that girl is in danger! He yelled.
-That's why I woke you up. You need to rush to her house, and tell her parents what's going on. Nick' boss said.
-Why? Nick asked.
-Something has allready happened. She was stabbed and now she's fighting for her life. Now go, and save her. Nick's boss replied. Nick nodd and rushed to his car.

Meanwhile in the teain, Melanie was still lying on the floor of the train. She was bleeding but still not dead.
-You know, I allready thought I wouldn't get the friend of yours out of the way that I could get my hands on you. The voice said and smirked. Melanie couldn't talk or move, as if she was dead, but she wasn't.
-You're not here. She thought by her self. Soon she felt something sting her neck, but se made no sound nor moved.
-You're not... H-here... she muttered.
-You can't... controll m-my dreams... she continued saying quietly.
-No... the atacker said.
-No! The atacker screamed as the bright light filled the room. It turned to it's basick form, before it was gone. The nightmare was gone and it lost most of it's powers, giving the powers to Melanie. She rememberd again, how to controll her dreams. She tried to get up but she couldn't.
-Nick... was all she could think untill everything went black.

Meanwhile in the real world, Nick just got on Melanie's home. He rang the door bell and knocked, untill her father oppened the door.
-I'm sorry I had to wake you up, but this is really important. Nick started.
-It's about you'r daughter. He continued.
-What about her? Melanie's father asked.
-You do know that if she dies in a dream, she'll die in real life too.
-Yes. Why? Melanie's father asked in confusion.
-I think she might be injuried or worce. Nick said. 
-What? You were supposed to protect her Nick! Melanie's father yelled.
-I know, I'm sorry! I tried but my boss woke me up and sent me here. Nick replied. Without anyother word Melanie's father let Nick in and Nick ran with him to upstairs.
-Melanie? Nick yelled on his way. They ran in to her room, and Nick tried to wake her up.
-Melanie, wake up. He said loudly to wake her. No response. That's when they noticed the blood.
-Oh dear god, Melanie? Nick said. He tried her pulse and breathing.
-She's not breathing. Call 911! Nick yelled in panick. Melanie's father did as told.
-What's going on? Melanie's mother asked sleepily. That's when she saw the blood.
-Oh my god, Melanie! She yelled.
-The ambulance is on it's way. Melanie's father said.

Soon the ambulance men came and they started the CPR. they tried and tried, but no use.
-God damn it Melanie... Why did you have to die. Nick asked and started sobbing. So did her parents. Everyone were just about to give up, until they heard the steady been of the machine. It was the heart beat. She was alive.
-N-Nick? She asked as she slowly oppened her eyes.
-Melanie, honey? Her mother called her. The ambulance men took her to the ambulance and they all headed to the hospital. They were all crying from happines as Melanie was ok, exept for the wound on her back.
-Nick? She said.
-Yeah? Nick asked.
-For what? He asked.
-For keeping me save for these months. Melanie replied. Nick smiled and nod.
-You're welcome

One month later Melanie completely recovered and was once again able to controll her dreams. She hadn't seen Nick after that, until one night in her dream.
