Chapter 1
"That's the guy!" Nick says to Tyler as we turn the corner and find a place to sit. We put down our trays at a table and start to eat our meals we ordered up at the front counter.
"What guy?" I asked confused opening the wrapping on my burger. I look at Taylor who just shrugs.
Nick looked at me, "So you guys weren't there, but one time my mom made me come here and get food for the eight people currently at my house. So I walk up to the cash register and ordered what my mom wanted me to get." He looks around at the table as we all eat.
I swallow a bite of my burger and grab my pop, taking a drink out of it. "I ended up ordering 16 McDoubles." Nick says with a smile. As if on cue Taylor, Tyler and I burst out laughing asking if he was joking, with to which he said no. Nick soon starts laughing along with us.
"Anyways," he continues in between laughing. "The guy at the cash register -who by the way just took all four of our orders- stared at me then goes to punch in the order but it didn't work, so he calls over one of his buddies to try to get it to work. The guy's friend tries to puts in the order himself but once again it didn't work!" He exclaims.
"So the two call over their manager and they finally get it working. But while they were trying to get the order in the system I stood at the counter and the ice cream machine shakes and messes up, spraying water out at me and get my shirt all wet."
The four of us were laughing so hard, that I had tears leaking from the corner of my eyes. I look across from me and see Tyler bent over almost falling on the floor clutching his sides saying "Ow," over and over.
"Ty? You okay?" I tilt my head to look at him, my long dirty blonde hair covering about half my face.
"No!" Tyler laughed.
"Oh I'm not done," Nick tells us. I sat back up still laughing a bit and looked at Nick waiting for him to continue while glancing over at Tyler now and then so he wouldn't die from laughing. That's the last thing we want on the news. I can see it now.
'17 YEAR OLD BOY DIES ON MCDONALDS FLOOR AFTER LAUGHING SO HARD.'
And then a reporter would start talking.
'A 17 year old boy named Tyler Hunter was reported dead on Thursday afternoon at McDonald's after going out with his friends and having a good time. Witnesses say the four were having a great afternoon when Tyler suddenly had a hard time breathing while laughing. He kept complaining that his sides were hurting but didn't pay to much attention to it. Tyler then died moments later. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.'
Then it would show a picture of Tyler on screen. His dark brown hair being covered by his Flash hat, his hazel eyes would be closed, while he leans forward in his seat laughing to whatever was said by one of our friends.
"When I finally got my to-go bags with my food in them," Nick continues, ripping me from my thoughts. "I walked out the door and the three people behind the counter stare at me the WHOLE time I leave because of my shirt got soaked by the machine THEY work with. So when I finally got home, I was about to walk up the porch when one of the few bags I had ripped and everything fell out." Nick laughed sitting back at his seat, face red with embarrassment as he stares at me, watching how hard I'm laughing at his story.
When the four of us finally stoped our laughing fit, we finish our food and leave McDonald's walking out of the building, down the parking lot and to the sidewalk. As we walk down the street my phones dings in my pocket. I pull my phone from the back pocket of my black jean shorts and see a text from my best friend Gabriella.
