Chapter 9

PREVIOUSLY
So I guess now it's me, Happy, Natsu, Gray, Juvia, Erza, Jellal, Lasagna (Lisanna), Bixslow, Wendy, and Carla. We are gonna rock this expedition!!!!

LUCY'S POV

As we walk through the woods I can't help but feel like this expedition will take a turn for the worse. I have this feeling that tells me that we should just turn around and come back another time, but I know that we need to keep going.

Without the medical supplies that Wendy needs, then we won't be able to give everyone the vaccinations that they need to continue to survive in this crazy world.

The only thing that puzzles me everyday is not whether I'll survive. It's the fact that I don't know anything about my life before the world turned to a living nightmare that just never seems to end.

Right now we are walking through the streets of Fiore, in a nice suburban neighbor hood. Everything seems like nothing bad has happened and it also seems really quiet.

"Hey Juvia, is it just me or does something feel off." I asked looking at the blue haired girl walking next to me.

"I don't think so, why?" she turned her head to me giving me a questioning look. "Is something wrong?"

"I don't know. I just have this feeling that we should just go back." She started to giggle.

"What is so funny? Do you not believe me? Do you think I'm going crazy?" Her giggles turned into a quiet laughter.

"No not at all it's just that, I know how you feel."

"So you don't think I'm going crazy?" She just started giggling again. "Okay seriously what is soo funny?" I asked stopping and staring at her.

"Okay, okay. No I don't think you are going crazy. And yes I know how you feel cause that's how I felt my first expedition. Same goes for Natsu, Gray, Wendy, Bixslow, Lisanna ,Levy, and I'm sure Erza was too when it came to her first time." She placed her hands on my shoulders. "Look, what I'm trying to say is that nobody is perfect nor are we made of stone. We were all terrified of our first time and I'm sure sometimes we still are, but we have to be strong and keep going cause we know we have to carry on and do our part other wise we'll end up like the zombies, dead with no emotions or care and the only thing on our minds is to eat. So put on your big girl panties and toughen up we will make it out of here and back to safety I promise you."

She held out her pinky and gave me a small smile. "Promise?"

I took a hold of her pinky with my own. "Promise."

"Alright then what do you say we catch up to the others before we get left here." She said taking off, sprinting to the rest of our team.

"Hey wait up!" I ran trying to catch up. Maybe I am over reacting, but one thing is for sure I can definitely trust these guys no matter what.

"Hey Lushie, can I ask you a question?" Happy asked still on top of my head waking up from his beauty nap.

"Sure Happy."

"Are you still scared?"

"Well yea but I know I can trust you guys to get and keep me out of danger when I need it."

"Good answer, but that's not the answer that I was looking for. Now tell me are you still having that feeling or not?"

"To be honest, yes, but I trust Juvia and I'm sure everyone got the same feeling that I'm having right now so I'm gonna try and keep calm and forget about it."

"Okay, oh and Lushie I have another question."

"What's up?"

"How do you really feel about Natsu? I promise I won't tell I just want the truth."

"Well I guess you could say that I like him, but that doesn't matter."

"Why doesn't it?"

"Lisanna likes him, and yes I know he doesn't like her in that way, but no matter how many times I try and talk to him she either jumps in or tells him that somebody needs him. That's all because she doesn't want him around me at all. Plus I know you noticed how he has been avoiding me lately."

"Well that's not happening now."

"What do you mean?"

"He's looking this way right now and he has been this whole time." Happy points out as I shift my gaze and lock eyes with the pi- salmon haired guy looking right back at me just like the blue feline said.

"Okay well I Guess your right about that, but that still wont change the fact that-, do you smell that?"

"Rotten fish, yea I do. When we get back remind me to clean out my pack."

"No Happy not your rotten fish. I meant do you smell actual rotting, its close and its only getting closer. Guys we have to hide like now, somethings not right."

"UGH, can you be any more annoying we know what's out here and plus this place has been abandoned for a long time. Just shut up and follow so we can get out of here before I really think about ditching you out here." Lisanna said turning to me with an annoyed look on her face.

"No, guys I'm being serious this isn't my paranoia any more. Something dead is coming here and its coming fast. We have to hide. NOW!"

"That's it I'm sick and tired of you, you're so annoying. Why cant you just shut up and listen when someone tells you to do something. I'm seriously on the verge of -"She was cut off by Erza.

"ENOUGH! We don't have time for this. we are splitting up and hiding in these houses NOW. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes ma'am" we all replied in fear of getting the wrath of Erza.

"Good, now Gray you take Juvia, Wendy, and Carla. Lucy, you will go with Natsu and Happy. While Jellal, Lisanna, and Bixslow will go with me."

"Wait Erza can we be reasonable here, how do we know we can trust that wench with Nat-"

"Alright split up we will meet back up here in an hour but for now stay in the house you go in and don't move a muscle unless needed." Erza cut off Lisanna once again.

"Come on Luce lets go in that one." Natsu said grabbing ahold of my wrist and dragging me into a random house that was next to the one Gray, Juvia, Wendy, and Carla went into.

Looks like I wasn't being paranoid.
