Chapter 10

PREVIOUSLY
"Come on Luce lets go in that one." Natsu said grabbing ahold of my wrist and dragging me into a random house that was next to the one Gray, Juvia, Wendy, and Carla went into.

Looks like I wasn't being paranoid.

Lucy's POV
So far we have been inside this weird and creepy abandoned house for almost four hours. The hordes haven't passed, as soon as one leaves a whole new group comes and we can't leave the house so we just moved up to the attic.

"Hey Lucy? Are you ok you've been pretty quiet and you seemed pretty freaked when we first got to town." Natsu said sitting next to me. "Are you sure you were ready for this?"

"To tell the truth," I started as I set my head on his shoulder. "I don't know. It's possible that I wasn't just ready to head out here, but then again when will I ever be thanks to the way this world has turned out to be. Where'd happy go this time?"

"He went over to the window to take a look and see what we're dealing with this time. Maybe you should get some sleep we could be here for a while and it would be best if you had all your energy. I'll take watch and let you know if something happens."

"What about you and happy?" I looked up into his onyx eyes seeing he needed more sleep than I did. "You look pretty tired and I don't think happy can stay up much longer without his fifth daily fish."

Natsu glanced shifted towards the blue furry cat that was on his little knees and had his furry face and tiny paws pressed against the window.

"He'll be fine. I hope, we're gonna need him to get you out of here in case of emergency."

"Then maybe you guys need more sleep than I do. And why do either of us have to stay awake when we already barricaded ourselves in here and there are three windows, for us to look out and wait for a signal which won't come for the next hour and a half. I think we should bother just get some sleep."

"Yeah no, that's not happening I'll stay up you and Happy can take a nap."

"Yes sir." I grave him a solider salute, then resettled my head on his his shoulder.

"I'm serious get some sleep."

And with that said I adjust the blanket that I was currently using, shut my eyes and fell asleep. Let's just hope that the zombies don't get smart enough to dodge traps.
