Chapter 17

Vlad's

"SKYLAAARRR?!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU??!!" I screamed out. I turned around and around and ran to every corner of the factory. No sign of Skylar. I sighed. More like breathing hard. I'm panicking. Vampires don't panic! But why am I? Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck!
I turned my eyes off him for a sec and he's gone! Where could he be!

I ran till I bumped into Eric. I grabbed for support. My knees are buckling. Why? "Father!" Eric grabbed my arms. "What happened? Where's Skylar?" He asked. I couldn't answer. I have no answer. He looked at me worriedly. "Fuck," he cursed. If we're not in this situation I'd make a funny remark on that. I mean Eric barely curse.

"W-we were in one of the tooms and then he was gone! H-he.. He was just b-behind me! And then he's gone! He's gone!!" I cupped Eric's face roughly and I shook it in shock. He held my hands and tore it off his face. He squeezed it and said," don't worry,Father. We'll find him," Eric hugged me. And I bit him. It's just what a father would do if he's weak. They drink their children's blood. I let go before I couldn't control.

I let him go and went outside. I can smell his scent outside. So they've taken him somewhere away from here. This was all just a trap. Just to take Skylar away.

Skylar, wait for me. I'll find you. No matter what.

Flashback

Skylar's

"On my order, move!" I ordered my wolves to follow me inside. Vlad had his vampires and Ascendants to surround the whole perimeter. The factory was pretty huge. Vlad came along with me. Claws and fangs out, everyone's ready to attack. I can smell a lot of creatures here. But they smelled familiar. More like, how Adam smelled a little bit like Vlad. Adam did said there were others like him.

"You five, go to the left. And you five to the right. While you two stay here and keep guard. Whistle or growl if something happened, understood?" I said. They all nodded and moved to their designated position. Vlad followed me to the front. There were doors. A lot of doors. I took a whiff outside the first door. Smelled like cubs. I twisted the handle and opened the door. I heard sniffs and sobs. There were at least 5 cubs and kittens and pups probably at age probably early 2 years old. They all looked a bit familiar. "Hey Vlad," I called out. He was at one of the cribs, staring at a vampire child.

"Yeah?" He came to me. "Look, this one looks like Maddox. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I asked. The cub(humans but with animal ears and tail) wagged his tail. "Maddox actually came from here? But that was 30 years ago," Vlad said. "He's probably one of the earliest experiment? I don't know. Probably. But there's no mistaken it," I said.

Vlad then used his telepathy to call Eric inside to take the children away. I took a good look inside. There were children books, a lot of wires connecting to the babies, and there were few toys. I went to the back while Vlad was busy helping Eric outside. I felt an air. There must be a door. I touched around and found a wall that could be pressed. I pressed it and a door opened. There were a ritual circle on the flood. And I heard a whimper behind the door. I looked down and saw a young woman.

She was shivering in fear. "G-get away from me!" She put her hands up in defend. I crouched down and tried to calm her down. "Hey hey, don't be afraid. We're here to save you guys," I said. She looked up. "You're going to save the children?" She asked, eyes full of hope. I smiled. "That's what we're here for," I assured her.

"Now how many people like you?" I asked. She showed 3 fingers. "There used to be 4 but Alana let one escape and she was gone. I don't know what happened to her. Whether she's dead or alive. I hope she does!" The woman said. "Alana as in Mama?" I asked for confirmation. "Yes, that's what other kids called her," she said.

"The child she helped escape, he was my mate's son. Thank you," I said. Then her smile faded. She grabbed my wrist and smiled wickedly. "And thank you for coming! Hahahahahah! " she laughed and I blacked out.
