Nina's P.O.V
"Seriously? Wow, I never knew there was so much going on between you two." Kat says as she drank some of her water. I had gone straight to Kat's after I left Paul's and told her nearly everything from the day we met in the cafe to the part where I left because Phoebe was coming into town.
"I know Kat. The worst part is, I didn't want to go, I just wanted to stay, and it really felt like Paul and I were going somewhere. But Phoebe's my friend, I couldn't have betrayed her."
"Hey, listen to me." She grabs my hands and brings me closer to her, "That is what makes you the better person, okay? You're putting her needs before yours but think about yourself too Nina. I've been a bystander to the Paul Nina relationship for seven years, and as much as it pains me knowing you two were finally going somewhere and now it's ruined, I think you did the right thing." Kat smiles as she lets out a sigh, before going to the kitchen to get some food.
"Who knew a relationship could be so complicated!" I hear her shout. I smile, but it quickly fades when I remember I hadn't told Kat the most important part that happened today- the kiss. I feel guilty knowing I hadn't told her the whole story, but should she know?I mean, it won't change anything.
I quickly shake off the thought before going to join Kat in the kitchen to eat.
"Chick flick or action?"
"What?" I turn around, confused.
"Me and you, are going to stay in all day and watch a movie, eat foods that are really bad for us, and there's going to be no mention of Paul." She grabs the popcorn bowl from the microwave, "Starting from now."
"Kat..."
"No complaints, at all." She laughs before nudging my shoulder slightly, "Stop looking guilty and get some food." Kat walks out the room, leaving me baffled standing on her kitchen floor.
I cave in and decide to take some chocolate ice cream from the freezer and crisps from the pantry. Walking into Kat's living room, I see she's already cuddled up with a navy blue wool blanket, and two CDs in her hands.
"So what's it gonna be?" She holds up Mean Girls and Fast and Furious 7.
"Oooh, I think i'm in the mood for a chick flick."
"Mean girls it is."
I cuddle up on the sofa with one of the spare blankets and eat the ice cream straight from the tub.
I hope Kat doesn't mind.
I turn to look at her but she's too engrossed in the movie, already eaten half of the popcorn.
I try to block out Paul but trying not to think about him makes it worse.
Deciding to just concentrate on the movie, I spread out on the couch and eat my ice cream silently.
Paul's P.O.V
For the past hour, Phoebe and I have been sat on the kitchen table, coming up with different things to do, we couldn't agree on anything so we're still sat here, not saying or doing anything.
"So, this idea may not have been the best." Phoebe says, shyly. I smile at her, not knowing how to answer that.
"We can go to the movies- watch a film." Phoebe shrugged, looking at me for confirmation.
"Sure."
"It's a date." Phoebe nudges my shoulder slightly as she walks to the door. I laugh before shaking my head, grabbing my wallet, phone and car keys from the counter and head out the door.
