Lia's P.O.V.

"Hey, Ryan?" I called to my mate as I slouched in my chair. He looked down at me a mixture of emotions in eyes. They were glowing with happiness but seemed more distant, I'm guessing it's because of the Isaac thing. I just can't believe someone rejected Isaac. Isaac was a little ball of sunshine, he was extremely loving and is probably the best person I know. I just don't know how anyone can reject such a precious thing. "I've been thinking about the Isaac thing." His eyes sadden more and he sighs. "I have a theory. I think I know who Isaac's mate is."

His eyes widened in curiosity. "Well, who?" He asked.

"Don't call me crazy because I have legit evidence." I started. "I think that it's," I paused for a moment really functioning this ridiculous idea into my mind. "Oli."

Tyler's P.O.V.

"Tyler?" Lia asked me. I turn to her. "You're Isaac's best friend. If he would tell anyone about being rejected he would tell you. So who is Isaacs mate." Her voice sounded relatively calm until the end where it began to sound deadly.

"I don't know, him and I haven't been too close recently because of his birthday." I lied. Yeah, we weren't close on the days leading up to his birthday but that was because I was just starting to get quite restless around him for no reason. Well, now I know the reason.

Lia nodded before sighing and glancing at Ryan. "Well, I think I know who Isaac's mate is." My eyes widened. Could they know that I was his mate? How? Could they sense a bond? He wasn't even here so that's not possible.

"Uhm, who do you think it is?" I asked nervously.

Ryan and Lia locked eyes before turning back towards me. "Oli," they said in unison. My eyes widened and jealousy flew through my body. Oli?! Why the fuck would they think that MY Isaac was Oli's mate. He's MINE. I held back a loud growl. Ugh, fuck this mate bullshit that's making me like this.

"Now before you think we're crazy, we have evidence," Ryan said. Evidence? Has he seen Oli with MY MATE? "Lia?" He looked to his mate to explain.

"Okay so Oli was supposed to find his mate a long time ago but he never did, probably because his mate was underage and Isaac's birthday was literally yesterday," Lia said, I nodded wanting her to continue. "Remember when Ryan's brother, Ethan found his mate and it was a guy. Oli wouldn't be in the same room as Ethan. Oli is really homophobic so if his mate was a guy it wouldn't surprise me if he rejected him. Now, this morning Dakota explained why Isaac wasn't in school and Oli asked what happened. So Oli seemed super possessive over Isaac. Dakota looked him dead in the eye and told him his mate rejected him. Did you see Oli's face once Dakota said that? His eyes filled with tears and he whispered I'm sorry before running off. I mean give me another reason he would do that other than the fact that he is Is Isaac's mate. Also, Dakota obviously knows something because he spoke to Oli with such disgust." She finished before crossing her arms. She put on a decent argument.

What do I say to her though? If I tell her that I agree then that make the fake mate thing ten times easier since I don't have to deal with them being suspicious of Kate and I. I slowly nodded "I mean it all fits." Is all I said. I didn't want to keep talking about this. I want to avoid talking about my mate as much as I could. It would stop me from reminiscing.

Suddenly I felt small hands wrap around my neck. My body tensed heavily before Kate sat next to me, one of her hands wrapped around my neck. Her hands felt awful on my skin but I couldn't complain. I sighed before turning to her and offering her a smile.

"Can you pick me up after school." She said before scooting closer to me. "Maybe we can have some fun." She whispered. I got super embarrassed because although she whispered wolves hearing is 6x more powerful than humans. So there is 100% chance that Ryan and Lia heard what she said. And my assumption was proven when they both let out a light snicker.

"I actually can't, I have to go to a pa- family gathering." I quickly saved myself from saying pack meeting. I did actually have to talk to my dad about me finding my mate and I want to ask him if I can replace my Beta. I just don't think I'll be able to work and be a goo Alpha if my Beta is my mate. I mean Isaac is still gonna be highly ranked. I'm planning to have Dakota take over as my Beta since he has been my second best friend ever since middle school. Dakota's current position is third in command which Ryan will take and Isaac will take Ryan's position which is lead warrior.

Kate frowns. "Oh well, I'll text you then." She says before leaving our table. Ryan and Lia are looking at me as if I was psychotic.

"She's not your mate," Ryan says.

"Yea she is." I try to convince them.

"Give up the game already," Lia says. "You guys have no bond. You tense up when she's near you. You seem you can't stand her." I look down. "Why are you doing this? Can't you wait a little longer." That's it. I can just say that I'm impatient and I want the Alpha position now.

"No I can't, I waited for four months. I'm done waiting, I want the Alpha position." I announced.

They both glared at me like I was an absolute dumbass."So you're saying the Alpha position is more important than your mate?" Ryan asks. I nod my head in complete honesty. "No disrespect bro but that's a dumb move. Having a mate is the best feeling in the world." He said pecking his mate's cheek. "You're gonna miss out if that tramp is your Luna."

Well, it's much better than having a male mate Ryan.
