I moved my arms in swift and absolute movements as I poured my heart out into the sweet melody.
The notes danced through the cool breeze as the orange leaves flowed from the trees and settled on the ground before me.
The bow moved over the strings as I was teleported to another world. A world where my present trouble were nonexistent and my greatest desires were real.
I poured my soul onto the strings as I played and played...
...until a hand waved in front of my face and brought me back to the real world. It was my father. My mind raced....he was rarely found outside of his office during the day nowadays.
"Yes papa?" I greeted. He gave me a scowl filled with irritation.
"It's been years since you played..." He began.
It was true...the last time I played, it was for my mother.
"I was just stressed out, is all" I shrugged.
He rubbed his temples,"Well I'd appreciate it if you kept the music to a minimum...oh and you should be guarding the kid at all times. Night shift included." He warned before leaving the garden in silence.
"Yes...father." I mumbled as I put my violin in its case.
The next morning, I woke up and drove to the Chientruil mansion. I waited outside the large building as the fresh morning air filled my lungs.
I noticed that there was another car parked outside. It was an expensive car that I'd only seen once in real life.
My gaze shifted towards the door that was now opening. The door moved to reveal Nicolas and an unfamiliar woman.
The woman had dark raven hair and deep azure eyes that seemingly put you under a trance. She wore a flowing gown that did not fit in to the towns...modest fashion.
She gracefully walked out the door that was being held open by Nicolas. I seemingly didn't recognize him with his gentlemanly expression and graceful stance.
I snorted at his change in attitude as they walked across the stone pathway and spoke,"Oh, I give many thanks to the delightful breakfast. It was simply wondrous to catch up." She said in a soft, silky voice. Even her voice was graceful.
Everything about this woman screamed, I'm better than you!
He simply nodded and smiled. I watched in amusement as I couldn't believe Nicolas was falling for all her well timed lines and innocent facade.
Eventually they got to the car and Nicolas acknowledged my existence.
"Ah! Trésor, perfect timing." He began with an even wider smile.
"Tré.....sor?" The woman repeated with slight anger flashing across her face, but only for a moment until she turned back to her usual gentle smile.
Nicolas took no notice as he took the woman's hand.
"This is Arabella the Duchess of-" but before he could continue, Arabellas sweet voice cut him off.
"Now now Nick, it isn't necessary to introduce me so formally." She said as she side glanced me.
I held my hand out, waiting for her to shake it, but the only response I got was a look of disgust upon her face.
She stared at my hand in disgust as if it was something that crawled out of the sewer.
She shook my hand with the tips of her fingers, wanting to make the least contact possible.
Nicolas looked at her in confusion and took my hand in his, placing a kiss on top of it.
