The theater was filling up and the crowd was abuzz as we entered the humid building.

We had met Arabella outside,"I seriously can't believe you're little Ms duchess new bodyguard, Maurius." I mumbled as we made our way to our private balcony for the show. He simply shrugged.

"The boss assigned me to her." He said.

We waded our way to the balcony and helped Nicolas and Arabella to their seats.

Nicolas and Arabella spoke about various topics before the show started.

The lights dimmed and the show began, the instruments started and formed a sweet melody as the singer stepped onto the stage.

I gently swayed at the music as the woman began singing.

My concentration faded as all my mind focused on was the music.

I broke out of my trance as a loud bang resonated through the building. The audience screamed out in terror and all the instruments broke out of the melody.

My eyes narrowed as I caught a glimpse of a silver object, hurtling towards Nicolas.

I instantly held my hand out and covered Nicolas's face, so that the bullet would penetrate my hand instead of his forehead.

I winced in pain and gripped my hand as I pulled the bullet out. It fell to the ground as I heard a shriek behind me.

I turned to see Arabella, almost in tears, gripping Nicolas as she called out to him,"Nick let get out of here!" She shrieked.

But Nicolas simply looked at me with fear written over his face, he looked at my hand in sorrow mixed with guilt.

I gave him a pained smile, wincing at the throbbing pain, and forced a laugh.

"This ain't nothing." I said as I heard another series of bangs.

I shoved Nicolas to the ground as a flurry of bullets rained down upon us.

A bullet made its way to my shoulder as I bit my lip to stop myself from crying out in pain. I stumbled to my knees, gripping the wound.

"Maurius, GET THEM TO SAFETY NOW!" I ordered. He nodded his head and dragged both of them out the balcony and towards the back exit.

I forced myself on my feet and gripped at the Tommy gun slung over my shoulders.

I ground my teeth as the pain intensified as I stood.

"SHOW YOURSELVES YOU LITTLE RATS!" I spat.

The gang of men emerged from the shadows and grinned. I grunted in pain as I gripped the rails. My grip faltered as the wound on my hand began throbbing and burning unbearably.

"Well look what we have here, little miss Russo, daughter of big Boss Antonio Russo, all alone, defenseless and weak ." They all chuckled as I struggled to straighten my posture.

"Well that's where you're wrong," I paused as I spat out blood,"Cause I ain't ever defenseless and I ain't ever weak." I said as the corners of my mouth twitched into a smirk.

"I'll give ya two minutes to run." I said, a smirk still plastered on my face.

They all laughed arrogantly.

"I think we should be giving you time to run." They remarked.

I shook my head as another mouthful of blood escaped my mouth.

As if on cue, explosions were heard emanating through the building as they all exploded at once.

The walls barely stood and it took one final explosion to bring the them down.

I waded through the rubble as I heard coughs and hacks all around me.

I realized as soon as I stood, that my right leg had a deep gash along my inner thigh.

I failed to bite my tongue as a cry of pain left my mouth.

"Valentine!" I heard a familiar voice call. I looked around to see Nicolas giving me a worried expression.

My eyes widened as he fell to the ground and a loud bang resonated through the air. What was left of the previous gang, now surrounded me they all looked at the prince with smiles spread across their faces.

My eyes never tore away from Nicolas and after a few minutes he slowly crawled to his knees. I sighed in relief.

But my expression turned grim as chuckles filled the silence.

"Well look at this, Prince Nicolas and his little pet." One of them called.

It was silent for a few minutes as everyone awaited a response. The response they got made them shudder.

I began to giggle and my giggles turned into full blown laughter as I wiped a tear from my eye.

I laughed through the pain as I put pressure on my legs. I laughed through the pain as I gripped onto my Tommy gun.

I found newfound strength as I laughed like a sociopath. My next actions proved it.

I looked at them with insanity in my eyes and a wide grin plastered on my face.

"I....I think you're getting confused with who's the pet here." I said with a strained voice and broke out into giggles.

I looked at them once again and could see the fear slowly building inside of them. They looked at me with slightly quivering frames.

"And....you wanna know something funny......your two minutes are up." They shook at my words.

I giggled as I lifted my Tommy gun as fear dawned on their faces. I continued giggling as I put just enough pressure on the trigger and large bullets whizzed through the air, meeting their targets. Shrieks of fear and pain filled the air as the gang fell limply to the ground one by one

I sighed and spoke,"That was too easy."

Until I heard a whimper...

I looked around to see a member of the group on the ground, huddling his shoulder.

I walked over to him and peered at his face. He was a young boy...had his whole life ahead of him.

"P-p-please have mercy!" He whimpered.

"Awww...poor thing, well here's the problem...you chose the wrong side boy." I growled as I grabbed my knife and lunged it at his throat. He thrust and struggled but eventually lay still.

I turned to see Nicolas looking at me with tears in his eyes, the last image I got as my reality faded to darkness and fell to the ground...finally being granted peace...
