One year later...
The sky was gray and the wind was cold.

The room was dark but the atmosphere was even darker.

Remnants of last night's storm still hung in the air.

There I stood in black...
With a lost heart...
And a broken mind...

The night before....the mansion was attacked....don't know who it was exactly, but we think it's linked to Lorenzo's death.

We stood no match against the sheer numbers...I wasn't home that night....I was out doing a job when the attack happened.

The men and women slaughtered everyone present in the house and they didn't even grimace.

"If I was home.....you wouldn't be dead." I thought to myself.

Endless amounts of tears streamed down my face as I stood as still as a statue.

I held my father's cold hands.

The hospital room held every one of my father's men.

They all lay on beds with gruesome injuries that I couldn't bare to see.

My father looked at me with dull eyes as his breathing was uneven. He hair in a tangled mess as dark circles formed around his eyes

There was nothing left........none of the Russo family was left.

Danté gripped my hand as our father spoke.

"My child....*cough* we both know I ain't gonna make it through this. I need you to become.....the head of this family..." He coughed, resulting in blood rushing out of his mouth.

"No father.....I can't..." I begged.

He weakly shook his head,"Do it for Danté, do it for me......do it for them..." He insisted and I couldn't bring myself to reject him.

His breathing slowed and nurses rushed to his body, trying to stabilize him.

I couldn't watch as I looked around the room.

I walked over to Nathan and Tyler.

"Hey guys......you look great." I joked as tears streamed down my face.

They gave a weak chuckle in response,"Hey....take care of our family business kid." They both said.

I nodded and turned to face Maurius.

"Hi." Was the only thing I could muster up.

Maurius had been like a fatherly figure to me after mom and Amy died.

I couldn't look at his face as he weakly touched my hand.

"I'm s-sorry." I sputtered as I rushed out the room.

I rushed out of the hospital and found myself in the garden of the old Cheuntreiul mansion.

I huddled up on the little concrete bench and thought about all the good times we had.....those were gone now.....everyone is gone....and then a question rung in my head.

"What's the point?"

There I stood...in one of the lowest points in my life......the barrel of my 1911 colt in my mouth as I prepared to put pressure on the trigger.

I squeezed my eyes shut and waited for the loud bang to resonate through the calm morning air.

And then it didn't..........

I stumbled to the ground as I felt someone push me.

The grip on my gun faltered and it clattered to the ground.

I felt someone pin me to the floor, stopping me from escaping.

My eyes met with another and immediately my heart skipped a beat.

Familiar.....pale.......blue......eyes........

I couldn't stop the waterfall from escaping as more tears streamed through my mind.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" He questioned in an overly concerned voice.

I didn't answer but instead starred laughing as more tears flowed through my eyes.

"What would've happened if I wasn't here?!?! You idio-" but before he could answer I pulled him closer and our lips met.

The kiss was sweet and soft.....I never wanted it to end.....

Nicolas kissed back and the tears never stopped as Nicolas wiped them away.

"What would I have done if you followed through with your plan?!" He continued scolding me but I cuddled him close.

"Why would you even care?" I asked with a smile.

"Isn't it obvious......because I love you!" He stated as he looked into my eyes.

My laughter and tears stopped at the same time as I looked at him in shock.

He covered his face in embarrassment
as I looked away too.

"Well........I kinda love you too...."
