Nero's P. O.V
There she laid in the room's bed rest, sleeping, only the light sound of her breathing to be heard.
The room had a light glow to it, the window was let open giving way to the cool night breeze to flow inside and fill the warm room with a light coolness.
I look at her serene face, as lucent as the stream of fresh flowing water and having a rosy tint on her cheeks.
"Nero, May I have a word with you? " Aurora's dad speaks coming inside the room and staring at me with a piercing yet calm gaze. I nod my head and start following him.
We go through corridors and corridors, having so elegant doors at a considerable distance. Finally, we come to an halt outside another door.
It had very beautiful intricate patterns over it, and yet the brown texture it had displayed simplicity. There were potted plants along its both sides and the wall were made out of rocks. The entrance of this room screamed royalty.
He went inside the room and motioned me to follow him. I happily yet tensely obliged.
Inside was much more extravagant. It was a very big, spacious room, if this even qualified as a room. There was a humongous chandelier hanging up above and the walls had purple texture over them with beautiful frames of scenic beauty hung over the walls.
Then I notice the other two people standing there.I immediately recognize one of them as Aurora's Mom, she had blonde hair too but not as bright as her daughter's and her eyes were green with specks of blue. I quickly skim over the room and my eyes land on another man.
He had plain white hair with half his head bald and his eyes they were the darkest shade of brown, he also had white stubble growing on his face and he looked like the type of person who could take anything out of his victim. An intimidating stance, hard stare and yet he seemed placid.
As the soon to be Alpha, I was supposed to pay attention to every single detail , every single individual and count every single second.
They motion both of us to take a seat and we comply.
"So ill of me to not introduce myself first. I am Conroy MacSmith, also known as The wise one. "
The old half bald man said with a welcoming smile and putting his hand forward for me to shake.
I shake his hand and introduce myself even though I had a feeling that he already knew who I was.
" I am Nero Steele Knight, Soon to be Alpha of Ardent Raven Pack. "
He nods his head and then we all settle down, there's a heavy silence.
Sir Conroy speaks up first to break the ice.
" So shall we start. " He speaks tersely. Everyone nods their head and Alpha Cole clears his throat.
" Where did you find her Nero? " Alpha Cole asks me staring right at me.
I think about lying at first, but then I realize that it would be a lot unfair to do so, also not to forget the way I treat the liars I come across and so I shake that thought and feeling to lie away.
" I found her fainted in the forest nearby the river. " I reply shortly.
" And what were you doing there? " this time it's Alpha Cole who speaks up.
I stumble to form the right and coherent words. What was I doing there? Nice question.
Yo Nero answer him now. Answer the nice question. My wolf Ian says in a taunting manner.
Just shut up and go away to your sanctuary. Don't butt in if you have got nothing helpful to say. I reply back and try to shut him down. He sits back calmly and smirks smugly.
"Nero. " I heard someone call me. I snap out of the argument with Ian and open my mouth to speak.
" I was there out for a stroll and saw her fainted. "
" Is that it? Nothing else. " Alpha Cole says.
" Ye... " before I could finish my sentence, Sir Conroy cuts me in between.
" Stroll at the middle of the night. That too alone in an unknown territory. " he says out loud with a straight face, staring intently at me. Trying to find some sign of deception.
" Yes, it is where the thrill lies. " I reply back with full confidence because it was actually thrilly not a bit of lie in there.
" What was Aurora doing there? " Alpha Cole asks me.
Just as I open my mouth Aurora's mom speaks up." Seriously, Cole. How would he know what our daughter was doing there."
I nod my head and smile gratefully at her. She passes me a small smile in return.
"Oh yeah, sorry Nero. " He says.
" Anything else you'd like to say or you may have missed... " Sir Conroy says staring intently at me, he had a different knowing glint in his eyes and a thin straight smile on his face.
" No, nothing. That's it." I say as calmly as I can.
Why are you not telling them that you are mates. Ian says.
Can you be quiet, let me handle things my way. I don't feel like telling them and so I won't. You always used to say that listen to what your gut says not heart or you at critical situations. I tell him and he shuts his mouth vehemently.
"Than you may go and get a good sleep, Nero. " Aurora's Mother says and just on cue the gate opens wide enough for me to exit.
I bid them night and take my leave.
I pass through that plain white door, a light blue curtain hanging and Aurora just a few feet away lying, resting and sleeping peacefully. I am tempted to go inside and just sit there staring at her for the remaining night.
Get an effing grip Nero. Go sleep in your designated room. Ian snaps.
Yeah but God, it's barely been a day, I met her and I am already been whipped. I don't need rest or sleep, I need a really good run. I say and with that go out to do the same.
Again I am really sorry for the late update, but things came up and I didn't get enough time to update it. Things like family emergency as I said.
What do you think Nero should have done? Or what he did telling the half truth was right?
Question of the week...
Do you like packaged coconut water?
