The next morning I wake up to the sun shining through the window. I look to my left and see Micheal sleeping peacefully beside me. I smile at him and lay my head back onto his bare chest. I stay like this for at least half an hour until I hear him wake up and begins playing with my hair. "Good morning beautiful," he whispers before he places a kiss on my head. "I don't want this to ever end," I whisper back. "I know and soon it won't but we just have to wait." He rolls over so he is above me, pressing his naked body against mine. "I hope you don't regret last night, because I don't," he kisses my nose. "I would never. I love you." He leans down and kisses me passionately on the lips. It begins to get more heated when I hear a loud knocking on my door. "Oh no!" I whisper yell pushing Micheal off me. I jump out of the bed and throw on a dressing gown. "Evangeline! Open this door. Now!" my father shouts from the other side of the door. "Just a second! Hide under the bed," I whisper the second part to Micheal who has collected his clothing and put his trousers on. He nods and slides under the bed as I unlock the door and open it.
My father pushes past me and walks into my chambers. "Why did you take so long to open the door?" he asks as hes inspected the room. "I had to put on my dressing gown," he nods and then walks towards me. I look down, causing him to grab my chin forcing me to look at him. "Was anyone in here?" I shake my head, he sighs and then pats my head condescendingly. "Get ready and then come to my chambers," I nod in reply. He pats my cheek lightly, then leaves my chamber closing the door behind him.
Micheal climbs out from under the bed and hugs me from behind. "Are you okay?" he places his head in my shoulder. I nod and lean my head against him. "You should go... I can't keep him waiting, father can be very impatient." He looks at me sadly before lightly kissing me on the cheek and rushing out the room. Half an hour later, I walk out of my chambers dressed in a loose white dress with a light blue cardigan that stops just above my knees. When I walk into the hallway I see Guy leaning against a wall near me. He gives me a knowing smug look before walking away in the direction of the stairs. I shake my head and and begin walking to my fathers chambers.

Once I arrive at my father chambers, I sit at a table and my father hands me my embroidery that I left in the library the previous day. I nod in thanks and begin to do the intricate stitch. My father sits next to me at the table looking a piece of parchment. He reaches for his seal and stamps it. Matthew, a servant, enters witha tray. He sets it down to the left of the Sheriff, then turnsto leave. "Matthew, am I left-handed?" Matthew turns to face him. "A clue..." holds up his seal in his right hand... "nooooo." I look between both Matthew and my father. "Sorry, sir. "Matthew moves tray to the his other side as the Sheriffputs down the parchment and picks up another. He skims itover as he pours wax from tiny, long-handled pitcher ontoit, not looking at Matthew. "Stand on one leg." Matthew glares at the Sheriff from the corner of his eye, thenstands on his left leg. "No, the right one." Matthew switches feet. "One hour. That might help you to remember, hm?"
