Chapter six

"You mean... I-I- ...this can't be true! Your my parents! My parents aren't dead. They're not my parents... they can't be." I say starting to cry. Joey rubs my back as I lean into him.

"Oh and there is more... Since you have a mate that means your father is alive." My dad, I guess, says. "What? I thought you said he was dead!" I shout. "Thalia, you shouldn't have a mate if he was dead. Your father was... a very powerful wolf and it was decided that he would pick your mate." Dad says.

"So, if Liam Crypt really was dead I wouldn't have a mate?" Joey asks.

"Most likely the moon goddess would've paired you with a human." Dad explains.

"Where is he? I want to meet my real father." I suddenly ask. It's Riley who answers. "We don't know. We have been looking for him since you found Joey." Riley says. "Trent has been staying in the tiger-moon pack because his mate is there. He says Eli is still alpha and he just turned 26." Ryan explains.

"She hasn't moved to our house yet? What's wrong with her?" I ask teasingly. Trent growls menacingly. "Nothing is wrong with her. She's moving today." Trent growls. "Okay, I believe you...maybe?" I say.

Ryan and Riley roll their eyes at me. "Seriously? That's the only thing you picked up on? Eli is 26." Riley says slowly like I'm a 3 year old. "So, I have my mate. Nothing to worry about." I say simply.

"There's a prophecy about you, Thalia. A dangerous prophecy." Riley says. "What's it about?" Joey asks. My family stays silent, all looking at the ground. "Oh, come on! It can't be that bad!" I say exasperated.

"You die!" Eric suddenly blurts out. He slaps a hand over his mouth and shudders. I lean into Joey's side as he pulls me closer, growling. "Nothing is going to happen to her. Not on my watch." Joey says slowly. "There's nothing you can do about it son. The prophecy is set. She...is doomed." Dad says pointing at me.

"Tell me the prophecy... NOW!" I scream. Riley sighs and looks at dad. "She deserves to know..." Riley says before turning to me.

"On her 18th year of life, she will meet her soulmate. He will be brave and strong, he will be her protector but not her true soulmate. The one to steal her heart is her enemy, and the cause of her downfall..." Riley says reciting the prophecy.

I sit frozen for a moment before pulling Joey closer to me. I curl into a ball and tuck myself under his arm. He looks at me as if in pain. That's when he gets up and leaves the room...leaving me alone.

I fall to the ground, clutching my chest as I cried my heart out. Riley and Trent came and sat with me while my other family members got ready to go. My head was placed in Riley's lap as Trent rubbed my back.

"Is she ready to go?" Ryan asks poking his head in the room. I stiffen but relax as if to tell them yes. Riley picks me up bridal style and carries me to my truck. He places me in the back seat because Trent and him get the front seats.

As we're driving away I feel my heart being squeezed into the size of a golf ball. Suddenly I feel a sharp pain in my chest and clutch onto it. Tears start streaming down my face as realization sets in.

I'm leaving Joey...

Sorry it's so short. Actually they all have been short... Sorry about that. The next chapter is going to be longer...hopefully!

I'm going to try and get Joey POV'S in the next chapter. If there is no POV at the top it's Thalia's POV. And I changed some stuff in the last chapter so go back and read it again please. Just clearing up things that might confuse you. (I don't really know you so...)
