Chapter twenty

Eli's POV

It was only two hours after they took her away that a nurse came out saying she would like me to see something. She asked me to follow her so I did.

"Remember when we said emergency c-section?" The nurse asks me. I nod my head, my brow furrowing. "Well it means that we make a small slit at the bottom of her torso so we can get the baby out. That is what we had to do to your girlfriend or wife."

By now we were standing outside a room full of babies. "I would like to introduce you to your new son. He is the one on the end. I'm surprised he came out so perfect we thought we would need an incubator. Are you sure she was seven months and not nine months?" She asks me frowning slightly.

"Um maybe I'm just a little frazzled. He's really my son?"

"Yes, unless you kidnapped her from her husband." The nurse says raising her eyebrows.

"More like the other way around." I say laughing slightly. I shake my head and rub my hands together. "So is she going to be alright? Thalia, I mean."

"It's to early to say, really. She had lost a lot of blood and the c-section didn't help with that. She went into surgery right after the c-section. You can go in and see him if you would like."

I look over at her and realize I was staring at my son. "Please."

"Come on lets go on in and see your son."

"He's so tiny." I whisper to myself. I was holding my son, my very tiny son, in my arms.

"He is abnormally small but that might be because he was premature. I hate to ask this now, but were you thinking of names. If his mother makes it she will be under heavy anditdoet and might not be able to name him before the limit is over to name him." The nurse says.

"Um we weren't... Can I think about it for a while. Like, when is the limit." I ask.

"Three weeks from today. Oh and i forgot to ask, would you like us to call the nearest hotel and get you and her family rooms?"

"Yes, please, that would be great. Thank you." I say as she nods and leaves the room. I look down at my son one last time before i place a kiss on his forehead and place him back in the bed. I sanitize my hands and walk out the doors to the veiwing room. I see Kenny and Dimitri standing there leaning against the wall chating to each other. When I come out they fall silent and look at me.

Dimitri pushes off the wall and walks over to me. He places a hand on my shoulder and squeezes it. "Any names come to mind when you look at him?" Dimitri asks me as we start walking towards a pair of seats.

"Jason Mark Crypt." I say almost imediatly after sitting down.

"Then that's his name." Dimitri says. I nod my head just for the sake of nodding my head.

Just then the nurse rounded the corner. "I called and they have the rooms booked for you. The hotel is just next door and we will call if anything happens." The nurse says before turning on her heels and leaving.

"Okay what are we waiting for? Lets go get some sleep because if you haven't noticed it is midnight." Dimitri says getting upand pulling me along with him. I stumbled behind him slowly and tiredly as I finally realized how tired I was.

We reached the hotel got our room numbers and went upstairs to them. When I got in my room I kicked off my shoes and fell on my bed, already asleep.

I woke from a dead sleep and screamed in agony. There was a gruesom pain in my chest that wouldn't go away. I got up and stumbled to the bathroom to see that I was ashen white and sweating emensly. The pain came back in flash and made me fall to my knees. Dimitri came rushing into my room with a look of pain and sadness on his face. With that one glance I knew. Thalia was dead.
