Lucas:

Last three days of trip:

"I'll meet you down stairs. I have to call Cade," Kyle rolled his eyes and went down to the lobby.

"Hey baby," I put Cade on speaker phone and continued to button up my black shirt.

"I miss you," she spoke sadly and I tied on my Adidas shoes.

"I miss you too. I'll be back at the end of the week," I heard her move around her house and I went down stairs and sat down in the lobby.

"I wanted to call and say goodnight," she sounded like she was cooking on the other side of the phone and I heard her drop something,"Crap," I started to laugh and she grumbled, "Stop laughing at me Luc. I can barely cook as is," I rubbed the back of my neck and she cleared her voice, "I love you Luc. Be safe tonight," Kyle walked back into the lobby and motioned we had to leave.

"I love you too. Bye Cade," I hung up and followed Kyle into the conference room. After the meeting with coach, Kyle and I went back up to our room.

"Dude! There is a huge college party down the street," I looked up from my history homework and smile.

"I'm down," I threw my stuff in the corner and changed my shirt. I slipped on a blue shirt and styled my hair, "How did you find out about the party?" he slipped his phone into his pocket while smirking.

"Not important. Let's go," I rolled my eyes knowing that was code for some one night stand. We arrived at the party twenty minutes later and there were red cup littering the lawn.

"I've missed partying," Kyle walked into the house and I followed closely behind.

"Here," Kyle shoved a cup of brown liquid in my face. I took the cup and drank half the liquid. A couple of drinks won't be so bad. I was leaning against the wall watching Kyle pick up different girls and I frowned. I really miss Cade and I wish she could have come with me.

"Hey," a feminine voice spoke from next to me, pulling me out of my train of thought, "Are you from the frat?" I shook my head and finished the rest of my third drink.

"I'm just here with my friend," she pressed her over glossed lips together and looked up at me.

"I'm not even in college," I looked down at her and she smiled.

"I'm in high school too. I'm a Junior."

"I'm a senior," she pressed her body against my side and I froze. I put my hand on her shoulder and pushed her away lightly.

"Dance with me."

"I have a girlfriend," she put her hands on my chest and pushed me against the wall.

"She doesn't have to know baby," she placed her lips on my neck and I tried to push her away again.

"I love her and I wouldn't ever cheat on her," I walked out the front the door and looked at the time. I read 12:30am and I made the long journey back to the hotel hoping I wouldn't get arrested for underaged drinking. Tonight was a mistake I should have stayed on the phone with Cade and finished my history homework. I slipped the room key into the door and flopped down onto my bed. I hope tomorrow goes better than today and in another day I will be home with Cade.

"Luc," I woke up and my head instantly started pounding.

"Take these and get dressed," he said in a short tone and I scrunched my eyebrows.

"What's wrong with you?" he crossed his arms and looked at me.

"I saw last night," what happened last night? I called Cade and then we went to a college party.

"Crap the party," I placed my hands over my face and groaned.

"I pushed her away before anything happened. I swear Kyle she came onto me," he threw a pair of jeans at my face and walked into the bathroom.

"Kyle. I wouldn't cheat on Cade," he pressed his lips together and I threw gel into my hair, "What happened?" he looked at me and gave me his phone.

"This was all over social media," I looked at the pictures and the phone hit the ground, "Cadence called me last night," I grabbed the edge of the counter and started to freak out.

"What did she say?" he placed his hand on my shoulder and frowned.

"She couldn't stop crying," I grabbed his phone and called Cade. The phone rang and rang until I heard sniffling on the line.

"Cade," I heard her breathing stop and I felt tears prick my eyes.

"Don't Luc," Before I could get any words out, the line went dead.

"No!" Kyle took back his phone and looked at me.

"I'm sorry man," I wiped off my face and slipped on my soccer polo shirt. I took more deep breaths and Kyle walked out of the hotel room. I followed closely behind and we went to the last meeting for the trip.

"Luc," I looked at coach and he gave me a worried look.

"Everything okay?" I nodded and continued to take notes. We left two hours later and Kyle dragged me to lunch.

"You should eat Luc," I stared at my burger and instantly felt sick.

"I'll ask for it to go. I'll eat it later," he frowned and grabbed the check.

"On me," I gave him a small smile and we headed back to the hotel. We leave for home tomorrow after a lunch conference with other baseball teams in the state. I woke up the next day and felt instantly sick. I didn't eat anything yesterday and I still wasn't hungry today. I miss Cade and I have ruined any chance of us being together because of a drunken mistake. Kyle heated up my burger from yesterday and I grimaced.

"Dude you need to eat," I got up and slipped on my running shoes.

"I'm going for a run," I walked past him and started my six mile run. When I got back, Kyle was texting someone.

"How was your run?" I turned on the shower and shrugged.

"Didn't help. I need to see her Kyle," He nodded and put the burger back into the microwave.

"You are eating when you get out of the shower. Even if I have to shove this burger down your throat," I smiled at his words and jumped in the shower. After eating the burger, Kyle and I walked around the town until dinner.

"I can't believe both of you are graduating. I don't really want to train new team captains," Coach said and I smiled.

"Luc, I saw what happened on social media. I know you wouldn't have cheated on Cadence," I nodded and my heart broke a little bit more at the sound of her name.

"I pushed that girl away. I don't know who took the pictures and since Cade saw them, she will most likely break up with me for it," Coach nodded and patted me on the back.

"She loves you and it will take time, but she will forgive you. Just tell her your side of the story," I said a quiet thank you and finished eating. When we got back to the hotel, I picked up my phone and called Cade for the tenth time today.

"Hi, you have reached Cadence Nelson. Leave a message at the beep and I will get back to you when I get a chance. Bye," I listened to her voice and more tears dripped down my face.

"Stop doing that to yourself Luc. Wait until your home. Talk to her in person," I placed my phone on the bedside table and laid back on the bed.

"I really fucked up," Kyle turned off his light and cleared his throat.

"Like coach said. Give it time," his words echoed through my head and I stared at the dark ceiling thinking about how I was going to fix all of this. She had a lot of trust in me after I tormented her for so many years and now I don't think she will ever trust me again.
