Cadence:
May:
"The zipper isn't going up," Kelly said through gritted teeth and I looked down at my small bump.
"Prom is in two day and my dress doesn't fit!" I started to freak out and my mom walked up the stairs.
"What if we added fabric to the back of the dress?" I looked at my reflection and the floor length teal dress that I couldn't fit into.
"Do you think that would work?"
"Let me go to the store and grab some fabric and I'll see what I can do," I nodded and slipped off my dress and laid it down on my bed.
"Thanks mom," I kissed her cheek and slipped on blue spandex and one of Luc's baseball sweatshirts.
"Hi Lucas!" I looked downstairs and Luc was standing in the living with a box in his hands, "She's up stairs. No I haven't told her." I knitted my eyebrows together and he turned and looked at me.
"Hey Cade," I smiled and he walked up the stair case.
"What's that?" Kelly moves past us and joins my mom down stairs.
"Open it and find out," I lifted the lid and my eyes instantly formed tears. I lifted the soft purple blanket out of the box and looked at it.
"This is my baby blanket." Luc smiled and I pressed the blanket into my chest, "Thank you," my baby blanket was ruined in a house fire before I moved here.
"I figured our baby could have it," his hand laid across my stomach and I smiled.
"I don't even know what I'm feeling for you right now," Luc smiled and ran his hands through his hair. I kissed him and he pulled me into his chest. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. He set down the box and looked back at me. His hands wrapped around my waist and I looked into his crystal blue eyes.
"Thank you," I ran my fingers through the back of his hair and pulled his face closer to mine. His lips covered mine and my breath was taken away.
"Let's get your dress back on and fix the sides," Mom said as she walked into my room and Luc pulled away from the kiss.
"Okay," I said as my cheeks turned a deep shade of red. Luc left the room and I slipped the dark teal dress onto my body.
"And I'm finished," I looked at my mom and she cut the thread from my dress.
"Thank you so much Mom," I pulled her into a tight hug and Kelly ran upstairs with my dress. I followed behind and pulled off my clothes.
"This fits like a glove," I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. The sweetheart neck line fit my breasts perfectly and my baby bump was covered from the front. I'm not publicly out that I'm pregnant and I don't plan on saying anything because high school is full of bitches that will do anything to twist and tell a rumor.
"Can you tell?" Kelly circled me and pressed her lips together.
"From the side, kind of. But' as long as Luc doesn't smooth down the sides of the dress, you should be fine," I nodded and made my way down the stairs.
"Cadence you look amazing," my mom said and Luc was staring at me.
"Luc, you should close your mouth before you start drooling," Kel said and I let out a small laugh.
"Shut up, Kel," his cheeks were flushed and I looked down at my dress.
"Mom this is so amazing," she smiled and Luc wrapped his arm around my waist.
