Jungkook was standing on platform 9 and 3/4.
9 and 3/4. Not 9, not 10, 9 and 3/4. Sometimes he still couldn't believe it. When he was younger, he thought all those magic tricks his parents showed him were, well, magic tricks. He never expected any of this to actually be real.
And here he was, for the third time, getting ready to board the Hogwarts Express.
He was a Ravenclaw! Intelligent, creative, and witty, he was proud to be called a ravenclaw. He found, however, that most of the fun people were usually in Gryffindor. He would stay out in the common room or the library, and it seemed like every ravenclaw student was working or studying. Sure, that described him as well, but he wanted more. He wanted just a little bit of adventure. Which is why, when he stepped on to the train, he was alone.
Sure, he had friends, but none of them were very close friends. They occasionally said hello, and were there if you needed someone to walk with or someone to sit with at lunch, but other than that, they weren't there at all.
"Hey! Jungkook!" One of his ravenclaw "friends" called for him, standing further down the aisle of the train. "Come on! We need good seats!" Jungkook sighed. "Alright, alright, I'm going."
He grabbed his bag and kept walking. He actually missed where his friend darted into, though, so he had a bit of searching to do.
He had almost found his friend when two students caught his eye. They looked a couple of years older than him, and seemed to be having the time of their lives. Fun. They look fun. I like that. He decided to take a chance. I mean, how much would his friend miss him anyways?
He walked to the open door. "Hey..um.. is this seat taken?" Jungkook asked, pointing to the obviously vacant seat across from the pair. One of them chuckled. "Nah, you're good. Come sit down." Jungkook smiled and threw his trunk above the seat.
Jungkook sat down, and took a minute to observe the other boys. One was kind of short, and had brown, tousled hair, with very full lips. The other was taller, and had a honey brown hair color, with a sharp face and boxy grin.
"Hi, I'm Taehyung" the one with the box grin stuck out his hand, and Jungkook grabbed it appreciatively. "And I'm Jimin" the other said, taking Jungkook's hand as well. "Nice to meet you guys!" Jungkook replied a little shakily.
Taehyung began humming, which eventually turned to some sort of singing. Jimin leaned over toward Jungkook. "He does this sometimes, I don't even know what he's saying, he's so quiet." Jungkook had to admit, however, that Taehyung had a great voice. It was deep and soulful, and voice that seemed to match his appearance. "He's good though." Jungkook replied to Jimin. "Oh yeah. He's amazing." Jimin agreed. "Enunciate!" he yelled in Taehyung's ear, and Taehyung hit Jimin playfully on the shoulder. "Don't scream like that!" Jimin and Jungkook laughed, and soon Taehyung smiled too.
"So is this your first year?" Jimin asked Jungkook. "Oh, um, no, I'm a second year." Taehyung raised his eyebrows. "Oh really? What house are you in?" Jungkook smiled. "Ravenclaw." Jimin put his hands behind his head. "Ahh the Ravenclaws, so uptight and immersed in their studying.. all work and no play.. what a shame" he laughed. Jungkook furrowed his brows. "Hey! Not all of us are like that. I'm one of the few that enjoys fun." At this, Taehyung and Jimin practically jumped. "Good! You know, you should be friends with us. We're plenty of fun." Jungkook decided he might just take them up on this offer.
"Sounds good." The three smiled. "Oh, and if we're going to be friends, call me V." Taehyung told Jimin, smiling. "I can do that." Jungkook smiled as they looked at each other. Their gaze lasted a little longer than normal, but finally Jungkook looked away, oblivious to the fact that Taehyung was still watching him.
Jungkook pulled out a book and smiled to himself as he watched Taehyung and Jimin scream in song. So far, this year was a hell of a lot better than the last.

"I'm telling you! She's gonna take away the phones!" Jimin scowled. "Damn! Ruin the fun, why don't you." Taehyung and Jungkook walked along each side of him. "Oh cheer up, who knows, maybe no phones will be better!" Taehyung suggested, and earned a glare from Jimin.
You see, phones at Hogwarts had become such a problem that at one point, a professor made one burst into flames.
"He's right you know, all for the better." Jungkook said and patted Jimin's shoulder. Jimin stopped. "Alright gang, this is where we break. See you both later!" he waved as he went to go sit with his housemates. Taehyung and Jungkook both waved back and smiled. Jungkook turned to Taehyung. "I'd, um, better leave too. I'll find you later?" he asked nervously. Taehyung smiled. "You better." he reassured Jungkook as he went to join his table. Jungkook then, eventually, went to join his own house.
Even after he sat down, all of the students continued flooding into the great hall, anticipating the sorting ceremony. The first years looked absolutely terrified, as they should. Jungkook smiled at all the 11 year olds, even though just last year he was sorted as well.
"Gryffindor!"
He could hear the chants and hollers from their table, which was undoubtedly the loudest table. He had to admit, sometimes their enthusiasm was just a tad bit obnoxious.
"Ravenclaw!"
The whole table shook with applause and hollering. Well so much for that notion.
He watched as student after student was assigned a house, and everyone went silent as McGonagall walked towards the podium. He looked across the tables, and immediately locked eyes with two Gryffindor boys, looking much older than he was. They seemed to be the popular sort, and were clearly very attractive, as they were the most crowded around people at their table. Jungkook quickly looked away, and turned his attention to McGonagall.
He tuned out most of her words, but immediately started paying attention as the Great Hall burst into riot. "... no phones allowed, will be confiscated shortly.." The no-phone move was a bold move, but he thought it was great. It added to the atmosphere of the place. Also, the wi-fi sucks ass.
He looked to the Slytherin table, and, as guessed, Jimin was not happy. There seemed to be one student from Jimin's table that just sat there, staring into space. He was definitely older, and seemed tired, very tired. Maybe he didn't hear her. "Hey, Yoongi! They're taking away phones!" One student yelled at the tired one. "Mkay." he replied and went back to staring. This earned a nod and smile from Jungkook. I like him, he doesn't give a shit.
And with the end of McGonagall's speech, everyone resumed eating, just like nothing had happened.
