Bangtan takes on Hogwarts (#wattys2017)

Kim Taehyung was the honey of the hufflepuffs- one of the absolute sweetest and kindest kids out there. Absolutely no doubt that he belonged in in his house- the sorting hat did well.

His fellow classmates would treat him well; they all loved his smile and optimism. Hell, even some of the Slytherin students came around to enjoying his presence. This is why, out of all people, Taehyung befriended Park Jimin.

In transfiguration class the previous year, Taehyung was writing down notes when the paper itself turned into a mouse and scurried away. He looked over, and saw a Slytherin student laughing with his friends. He just smiled, and returned to copy his notes again. At this, the Slytherin student was stumped. Why would he smile? I just ruined his notes. He tried again, and Taehyung was still smiling. After three more attempts, the kid finally gave up, and approached Taehyung after class.

"Why were you so happy and calm about this? Anyone else would've been pissed." he said as he grabbed Taehyung's arm. "Because it's all just good fun, isn't it?" Taehyung replied, still smiling at the other. And he, too, began to smile. "I'm sorry about that. I'm Park Jimin, by the way." he shook hands with Taehyung. "I'm Taehyung, nice to meet you." And with this, the became close friends, subtly rubbing off on each other. Jimin stopped some of his antics and became genuinely nicer to most people, and Taehyung was full of ambition on occasion, stopping at nothing to reach his goal, even messing with Hoseok one day (long story short: Hoseok was kind of not really amused).

Despite his honey-like persona, Taehyung was extremely intelligent, and had worries and frustrations too, just like any normal person should. He often vented to Hoseok or Jimin, telling them exactly what was wrong, and asking how to fix it. And he would fix it, returning the world's balance.

This year, however, Taehyung decided that the balance would more or less be destroyed.

"Hi, I'm Jeon Jungkook."

"Hoseok? Can I ask you something?" Taehyung turned to his friend and confidante. "Sure, what's up?" Hoseok shifted, giving his attention to Taehyung.

"What does it feel like to.. like someone?"

"As in, romantically?"

"Yeah.."

Hoseok smiled. "Well, it seems like you're addicted to the person. You're mind's constantly stuck on their image, wanting to know everything about them. You imagine what it would be like to love them, to have them as yours. You think about them and smile, even when they aren't around." Taehyung gaped at Hoseok. "Wow.. that's amazing, Hoseokie." Taehyung turned his attention to the table. "Does my little Taehyung have a crush?! Tell me!" Hoseok became excited, and stared at Taehyung. "No! I mean, I only just met him, I want to know him better before I decide if I actually do like him or not." Taehyung gazed at Jungkook, who was looking at Namjoon and Seokjin. Hoseok followed his gaze, and his smile faltered. "Are you feeling any of what I just described?" Hoseok gently asked Taehyung, and Taehyung turned his gaze back to Hoseok. "Yeah, I am." Hoseok gave him a sad smile.

"Well, I think that's your answer."

After dinner, Taehyung speed-walked over to the great hall entrance to talk to Jungkook.

"Hey, V, I-um- I was just coming to talk to you actually." Jungkook said, as he ran into Taehyung. "Would y-" Unfortunately, Jimin chose this as the opportune time to come and talk to the pair. "Hey guys! What's up?" Taehyung and Jungkook smiled, both knowing that the moment was over. "Quiet much? Alright." Jimin noticed, however, that they wanted to talk to each other alone. "Okay, well, I'm gonna talk to Yoongi, be right back." Jimin entered the hall again, winking at Taehyung. "Go get 'em , tiger!" Taehyung shouted at Jimin the loudest he could. Jimin froze, glanced at Yoongi, and glared at Taehyung. Luckily, it didn't seem like Yoongi heard anything. As soon as Jimin turned his back, the pair started laughing, and resumed their conversation. "Anyways, I have a free period tomorrow at around 11, wanna hang out?" Jungkook asked Taehyung. "Sure! I do too, actually, so that works." They smiled at each other, resuming an slightly awkward conversation. This time, they were thankful for Jimin's interruption. Jimin grabbed Taehyung's hand and began walking. "See you later!" Taehyung called to Jungkook as he was practically being dragged down the hall. Jungkook laughed and waved.

Jungkook turned around, not seeing the other student, and crashed into him. "Damn, kid, watch where you're going." Yoongi told Jungkook. "Oh, I'm sorry, really, I didn't see you." Yoongi waved him off. "Whatever, it's fine. He looked up at Jungkook and recognized him as one of the students Jimin was talking to. "Well, see you around kid." he said, and walked off.

"Taehyung, did he ask you out?"

"He asked to hang out."

"Same thing!"

"No! You ask me to hang out all the time."

"That's different."

Jimin sighed, he was getting nowhere with Taehyung. "I already know you like him, I talked to Hoseok." Taehyung looked shocked. "What?! Why?" he asked. "Cause you didn't tell me! I kinda guessed anyway, you guys were being a weird type of friendly on the train this morning." Taehyung groaned. "I don't want to talk about this now. C'mon, let's go marvel over Seokjin."

"Fine, whatever." Jimin sighed, and let himself be pulled along by Taehyung.
